I walked towards the sound of where Mother said my name. She was sitting in the living room, drinking a cup of tea.
"There you are. Jimmy wants to eat out at a diner but the rest aren't really willing to go," said Mother.
"Oh, why don't the others want to go with him?" I asked.
"Apparently, they're busy with some other things that are occupying them. I know I have Tate, James, and Kai busy with the family so that just leaves Peter, Evan, and Kyle. But Evan's busy looking after Kyle so that just leaves Peter," said Mother.
"You know what, it's fine. I'll take Jimmy to a diner," I said. I went upstairs to my room to see that Kyle was sleeping, Evan was writing something, and Jimmy was watching over Kyle. I walked over to Jimmy and sat next to him quietly.
"Hey, Jimmy. You want to go to a diner?" I whispered to him. He smiled at me and nodded his head in agreement. I went over to Evan that Jimmy and I were going out and he agreed to watch over Kyle in the meantime. We went downstairs just to run into the group of kids from the family.
"O-oh hey. We got a little lost in this big house you have. My parents and Arabella kinda disappeared so I'm kinda stuck watching all the kids," said Alex.
"You can bring them to a playroom that has all the necessities that you need to take care of them," I suggested.
"And, where would that be?" he asked while rocking his baby sister to sleep.
"I can help you to the room," butted in Ivy. She smiled warmly at us and gestured for Alex to follow her. He took his siblings and followed Ivy to the playroom that we had.
"James wasn't wrong, they do have a lot of children. That mother must be one horny woman if she wants to have sex with us," said Jimmy. "Anywho, let's get going, shall we?" I followed him to his motorcycle and we both got on it. He drove us to a nearby diner that overlooked the beach. Usually, this diner didn't have many people but it was packed more than usual. There were a lot of people around my age and a lot of families that came to eat here.
"Why are there so much more people than usual?" asked Jimmy, getting a little uncomfortable.
"I think there's more because there's a carnival that's being set up nearby. Plus it's a break for people now so they want to travel for vacation. Baytown's pretty popular for the beaches and cuisine," I said.
"So we're basically a tourist trap?"
"No, I don't think we're a tourist trap. The food here is pretty good, don't you think so?" I said.
"Hmmm...I guess you're right, I do like the food enough to go out and eat at the diners and restaurants," said Jimmy. We both sat in a booth and the waiter gave us a menu to look at. "I already know, what I'm gonna order, so you can go ahead have the menu." I took the menu and looked through what was on the menu. I decided that I was gonna order fries with a milkshake. The waiter came back with a notepad and a pen.
"I'd like waffles and chicken please," said Jimmy.
"I'll get fries and a milkshake," I ordered. The waiter jotted everything down and left to put it in.
"Hey, aren't you that girl from the supermarket?" I turned to my right to see the same boy from the grocery store. I nodded my head in response. "You never told me your name and you told me you never leave the house and look here we meet again two days later," he said.
"Oh uh, I mean I guess I leave the house every now and then. I'm Y/n if you forgot," I said.
"I'm Junior, and who's this guy here?" he asked, pointing at Jimmy.
"I'm Jimmy, Jimmy Darling," he introduced himself.
"Nice to meet you," Junior said, reaching out his hand for him to shake. Jimmy stared at it and raised his hand to shake it.
"Why do you have gloves on? You got an allergy reaction to human touch?" he joked. Jimmy didn't take that too well and he gave him a glare. "Bad joke? I guess you can't take a joke," he said, sighing while looking at me. Jimmy was going to get up to beat him up but I held down his leg before he could get up.
"Excuse me, I have to place the food down before I can get to another order," said the waiter, holding our food impatiently. Junior moved away and the waiter placed our food on the table. "I would suggest that you go back to your seat because you're blocking the way for the waiters." The waiter went back towards the front to serve more customers.
"Alright, I think I'll leave you two to eat now," said Junior, walking back to his huge group of friends.
"That guy was a nuisance," said Jimmy before he started digging into his food. I ate my fries and dipped some into my milkshake. After a bit, we finished our food and I went to the cashier to pay for the food that we ordered. We went on Jimmy's motorcycle and went back home. Once we arrived home, I saw that Aunt Esther's car was parked towards the entrance.
"Aunt Esther's here," I said excitedly. I quickly ran inside to see that Aunt Esther has already fixed up Kyle.
"There she is! The star of the show is here!" said Aunt Esther as she came up to me and hugged me tightly. I looked over to see that Kyle was awkwardly standing behind her quietly.
"Kyle? Can you talk now?" I asked.
"Yeah, I can talk now. I honestly don't remember anything that happened. I just know that I punched Kai and that didn't go well, so I think Kai and I are not on good terms," he said.
"Yep, I still think he holds a huge grudge against you," I said.
"Yeah, I better go apologise to him for doing that," he said, walking away to find Kai.
"That reminds me! Your biological mother is coming to visit!" exclaimed Aunt Esther.
"What? This is the first time she's visited me ever since I was a kid. She hasn't visited me in my teenage years. Why now?" I asked.
"She misses you dearly, Y/n. She still loves you but the monsters that killed your father were still chasing her. She was able to throw them off the scent so she coming to visit tomorrow!" she said. Wow, I can't believe that my own mother was finally coming to visit me. I was going to say something to Aunt Esther but she got distracted by Zen's garden and went over to go look at that. I watched her go into the garden while Zen was nervously explaining each quality of the plants.
I took this time to go to the beach to think about things that have been happening recently. I took off my shoes and walked on the soft sand. I looked off into the distance. My dreams have been repeating the same memory I had when my father died.
"Don't cry, Y/n, everything's gonna be fine. Daddy's here, you don't have to be scared. I will always be here to protect you, Y/n." His words kept echoing through my mind. My dad died for me to live. I remember hearing the ghouls ripping my dad's body apart and hearing his screams and yells of pain. He cried out for my mother and he cried out for me. I couldn't do anything because he told me, no matter how much he cries for me to come out and help, I should not listen to him. I sat in that closet, covering my mouth in fear and tears were streaming down my face.
Once they were done with my father, they were searching for me. A ghoul almost found me until my mother blasted them away from the closet. She opened the closet and hugged me tightly, kissing my forehead. She then turned around to see my father's dead body and knelt beside his body. She gently touched his blood-soaked face and wiped away the blood. She shakily looked at her hand and started to cry out in agony. The loud sound attracted the ghouls and they came running back into the room. But in anger, mom killed them all within a split second and the other remaining ghouls ran away in fear.
That day, I saw how powerful my mother truly is. She then cast the demon-binding spell on me and I felt more protected. She moved quickly and gave me to Mom and Mother for them to take care of me. She would visit every birthday but she stopped on my tenth birthday. She never came to visit but only wrote me letters about her adventures.
