"Father!" , the young prince yelled happily. King Richard smiled, picking his son up before walking outside on the balcony. They both gazed over the Kings kingdom, a fresh sea breeze kissing their faces as they watched seagulls flying over the ocean and listened to the waves crashing against the cliffs of the lagoon. The King walked over to the telescope, letting the child look through it as he had promised. The prince looked over the ocean in awe. "Father, what's that?", he said in shock, pointing into the distance. His father took a look through the telescope, searching for what his son had meant. Far in the distance, he could see one of the crown guards ships bombing another ship. Anger and a weird satisfaction hit him when he saw the flag of the sinking ship. A pitch black flag with a white skull on it. "why are they shooting that ship, father? We should help them!", "Your sense of justice honors you, my son. But that was a ship of pirates. Alexander, listen to me closely." His son looked at him. "If you ever see a pirate, you must kill him. Promise me this." The prince looked up at his father in confusion. "But why father? I thought we need to protect all people of our kingdom." "You are right. But also wrong. Pirates do not count to the people of Aramis. They're a lower lifeform, a bunch of ruthless thieves, filthy rats without a single thought for justice in their small brains. They're like a disease to the seven oceans of the world. So promise me, to never trust a pirate or to even go as far as to spare his worthless life." .Alexander nodded. "I will father."

"ouch!", Alexander let out a small noise of pain when the sewing needle poked into his thigh. Annoyed, he looked at the seamstress who was measuring the cloth for his suit. "My apologys, your royal highness. But we need to get this done before tomorrow." "She's right, son.", said King Richard, walking into the room. "Your crowning ceremony is an extremely important event and you looking presentable has highest priority." "I'm only being crowned as the crown prince, not as king." His father chuckled. "do I hear slight jealousy there?" Alexander shook his head. "No! I just don't see why everyone is making such a big deal out of it. Nothing will change ecxept my title, so." "The faster you stop complaining, the faster it will be over. Believe me Alexander. Once my time is over and you will be the king of Aramis, the crowning ceremony will be a lot bigger and way more draining. Compared to that, this is like a dinner party." Alexander sighed, running out of arguments and the energy to argue at all. The thought of him becoming king was scaring him. Not just the amount of responsebilitys, but more the condition of his father having to die for him to earn his position. If it would let King Richard reign for ever, Alexander would renounce his right to the throne.
The young prince looked at himself in the mirror. His blond hair was neatly tied into a ponytail. His azure blue suit with shiny golden buttons and ornaments matched his blue eyes perfectly.
He did not like it at all but it would please his father. "Are you ready, your royal highness?", asked his chambermaid. "Almost.", he answered, trying to ignore how nervous he was. The thought of so many people watching his ceremony sent shivers up the young princes spine. And just as scary as the thought was the sight of it as he was kneeling infront of the kings throne. "Prince Alexander. My son. We all have gathered here today to witness another milestone in your life. As the crown prince of Aramis, do you promise to help protect, grow and love this kingdom with all of your strengh, coura-" "YOUR MAJESTY!!", the yelling of a royal guard interrupted King Richard. "how dare you interrupt the...", the king stopped in his furiosity as the audience listened to the screams outside getting louder. "THE PIRATES ARE COMING! THE CREW OF NEPTUNE'S ROSE IS ATTACKING THE CITY AND THE PALA-" the guard also got interrupted, not by a person but by an arrow piercing trough his chest, splashing blood on the perfectly white floor. He tried to talk but all that came out of his mouth was a stream of blood running down his chin before dripping down, joining the forming puddle on the tiles. The crowd screamed as a mass panik broke out when the guard sunk on the ground. His guards grabbed Alexander by each of his arms, running out of the hall, trying to find safety for their prince. Followed by King Richard and his own guards. The sound of canonballs hitting the city below the palace made the princes' heart skip a beat. The blood freezing laughes of the pirates rang in the princes ears as they turned around another corner.
A small weight suddely fell onto shoulders of the prince and he could feel warm liquid running over it. He did not dare to look at the Ground, knowing the head of his guard was rolling around there, three meters away from its owner, slashed off by a Sword. Alexander wanted to scream, get on his knees and beg for mercy. But the prince kept running, knowing his life depended on it. Alone, he ran, without even knowing in which part of the palace he was. The only thing infront of his eyes and his mind were the dark hallways of the castle. "There you are, little prince" All of the sudden, he could feel how something hard and heavy hit against the side of his head and he fell to the ground. His ears started ringing and the deep, barbaric voice of a pirate started laughing at the royalty he had brought to fall. The last thing he saw was the blurry sight of a pair of old, worn out leather boots before he blacked out. So this was the way his dynasty as the crown prince of Aramis would come to an end.
