Thanks to my alarm, I awoke with a start. My head is currently pounding. I barely got any sleep because of what happened last night. I hope my father is at work now, I don't want to face him. I got dressed very slowly, and now I am standing in front of my mirror, taking deep breaths. I wore the outfit I had picked out yesterday, and I love it. Sherlock is going to be driving me to school, and he still isn't ready yet. I am very nervous but excited. I've never been to school before! I sigh as I smooth my skirt.
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door. I cautiously open it. It's Sherlock.
"Hey, are you ready?" He asks.
I nod once, feeling a bit queasy.
"Did you have breakfast?" He asks, motioning for me to leave the room.
I nod again, saying nothing.
"Are you okay? I mean, after what happened last night?" Sherlock asks as he opens the door that led to the garage.
I take a sharp breath.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I mumble.
He raises an eyebrow at me but doesn't say anything else about that topic.
"Alright. Now get in the car. And don't eat, I just got the leather cleaned two days ago," Sherlock says.
I roll my eyes at him. Sherlock was very fond of his car, which actually belonged to Mycroft. When Mycroft got a new car, he gave his old one to Sherlock.
The drive to school is very silent. There's some music playing in the background, but I'm zoned out. I keep on thinking about what's going to happen. I know what school is like, there are popular kids, jocks, Gothics, etc. but I'm wondering where I fit in. It doesn't bother me at all, but I just wonder...
"Here we are," Sherlock announces suddenly. I look out of the window. I just realize how quickly summer went by.
Great Learning School of London-Since 1958*
August slipped away into a moment in time...
I step outside of the car unsurely. So does Sherlock. I look at him, confused.
"I'm supposed to be signing you up or something," he explains as he had seen my confusion.
We start walking towards the school, both slightly hesitating. Me, because I'm nervous, and Sherlock, because he would much rather be sleeping than doing this.
We enter, and the principal is there at the entrance, waiting for us. He smiles kindly when he sees us. I examine his features carefully. He's old, but not that old. He has brown hair that's slowly greying and kind brown eyes.
"Ah, Miss and Mr. Holmes. I've been expecting you two," he says cheerfully.
"Hello, Sir," we both reply politely.
"I am Principal James Ivans, but people here call me either Principal Ivans or Mr. Ivans. Sir works as well. Oh, I almost forgot! Miss Holmes, if you would please go inside my office, there is a student who is expected to give you a tour of our school," Principal Ivans explains as he points towards his office.
"Thank you, Sir. Bye Sherlock," I bid goodbye to my brother as I go to Principal Ivan's office.
I step into his office, wide-eyed. Mr. James Ivans is defiantly not like other principals. His office is very, very colorful but still quite neat.
I then notice a boy with bronze hair and hazel eyes sitting there, smiling at me and dimples showing. He is wearing a dark blue polo shirt and light blue jeans. He's pretty attractive and cute.
Wait. What am I saying? I don't even know him!
"I assume you're Enola Holmes?" He asks, tilting his head slightly.
I smile and nod.
"And you are?" I ask.
"Tewkesbury Basilwether," he says still smiling.
"Cool," I say nodding.
"You're not going to laugh at my name?" He asks now frowning.
"Why would I? Besides, Enola isn't a name you'd find in every other girl anyway," I respond.
"Thank you. You're the first person I've met to do that," Tewkesbury declares.
I smile at him.
"Now for the tour!" Tewkesbury exclaims standing up. I realize how tall he is. I have to slightly tilt my head up to look at him.
"You're short," he smirks.
I open my mouth shocked, and I playfully slap his arm.
"No, I'm not, you're just abnormally tall!" I exclaim.
Tewkesbury throws his head back and laughs. I love the way it sounds.
It's like I can't breathe.
He then makes his way to the door and holds it for me.
"Ladies first," he smirks.
I don't belong, and my beloved, neither do you...
I roll my eyes at him but smile.
"Why thank you, Sir," I laugh.
He laughs as well, and I never want this moment between us to end.
Tewkesbury takes me on the tour, but I can't pay attention to the school. Not when he's talking to me. I, surprisingly, have found myself a crush. On the first day of school, too.
"That's it. Now we have to go to History. You can sit beside me since you don't know anyone," Tewkesbury says when the tour was over.
I can't help but beam. Me, sitting beside Tewkesbury!!
"What you smiling at?" He asks, also smiling.
I shrug my shoulder, trying to act nonchalant.
Tewkesbury raises his eyebrows at me but lets it go anyway.
"How many more classes do we have today?" I ask.
"Four to five," he replies as I nod my thanks.
We both go to History, quiet. It wasn't awkward at all. In fact, it was comforting. Tewkesbury made me feel like everything was going to be okay.
"Ah, Miss Holmes. Welcome to our school," the History teacher says as Tewkesbury and I enter the class.
I smile and nod at the teacher, whose name is Mr. Peter Alex. I was suddenly aware of many eyes staring at me. At each table which was long, sat two students each. I look over to Tewkesbury for help. He notices my uncomfortableness, so he makes his way to his table and I follow quietly.
Throughout the lesson, I find out that Tewkesbury is the Golden boy of Great Learning. His parents are very rich, and he's the heir apparent when his father dies. He is an only child, who is spoiled and loved by his parents very much.
Not only is he handsome, but rich too.
Shut up Enola!
The lesson is quite boring. Luckily I have Tewkesbury to entertain me with his looks.
Wait, what?
I barely know the guy!
I mean, I could get to know him better if I wanted to. That's my plan now. To get to know Tewkesbury Basilwether better.
Why? Because he's gorgeous.
How? Either with my speech or looks.
When? As soon as I can.
I've got my eye set on Tewkesbury Basilwether. And it looks like my heart is his now...
*I made the school's name up, idk if it exists or not. If it does, then the school isn't mine!!
