Bruce, Billy, and Griffin came about 10 minutes later and were met by Finney, skating around near the table like a baby. robin, sitting down and trying to put on his skates. And Vance, who was just struggling to put up his hair so it wouldn't fly in his face.

"Oh, hi guys!" Finney waved at them as he passed the blades to the new trio of boys joining them.

"hi finney!!" They all exclaimed, sitting down and putting on the blades. Robin couldn't skate and neither could vance, Bruce and Finney were skating gods and billy and griffin were just mediocre.

"well c'mon lets go skate" said finney, leading the boys to the opening between the tables and the rink. Finney and Bruce took off the four other boys to figure themselves out on the rink whilst gliding around like ice skaters and doing all sorts of tricks. Skating backwards, fishtails, wavers, and Barrel rolls are some of his favorite simple ones, although he could do more.

Vance and Bruce were left behind to admire the two boys skating from afar, because as much as they wished to go and skate with them, they just couldnt. Robin was just barely capable of picking himself up and holding onto the wall in an attempt to get Finney to help him skate. Finney, noticing this went over to robin and motioned for Bruce to go help vance, who was currently holding onto the rug covered railing next to the rink entrance for dear life.

Bruce let out a playful sigh "c'mon vance" he said, taking vances hands in his own-- hoping he doesn't get hostile.

Finney was already off with robin by then leaving Bruce and Vance alone.

Bruce's heart was simply pounding out of his chest. He, Bruce yamada ( the nicest kid in school) was helping Vance hopper (who knows the policemen on first name basis) roller blade. Was he in heaven?

"So, a pretty boy like you can't skate very well?" Bruce spoke, immediately regretting what he said after it sunk in.

"Oh shut up, yamada. If I'm being honest I don't even know why I'm still here." Vance said, clenching his hands on Bruce's shoulders so he didn't fall. Bruce tried to reassure him that he wouldn't fall as long at Bruce was there but he wouldn't listen.

Eventually, Vance got the hang of skating, but he pretended as if he didn't because he wanted an excuse to hold Bruce's hand for just a little longer.

Inside skate estate it was cool, not cold enough for a jacket but not warm enough for shorts. The atmosphere wasn't tense, although Bruce thought it was. If he said or did one wrong thing he could get beaten to a pulp.

"could you... Help me?" Vance askes, looking up at Bruce from his spot on the floor.

Bruce giggled, "why are you on the ground?" He reached his hand out to Vance.

"I fell" Vance takes Bruce's hand and doesn't let go, instead he keeps holding it while he skates.

"I see you're getting better, did you just wanna hold my hand?" Bruce accused, turning bright red.

Vance doesn't answer but instead stops skating and pulls him near the wall, still holding his hand.

* Bruce pov: *

Vance stops skating and pulls me near a wall, we just stand there for a few moments.

"Had enough of skating yet, vancey?" I say. At this point I was thankful for the bright colored LED lights, because had they not be there Vance would see me be red as a tomato.

Vance doesn't speak for a few moments, but instead sits down on the floor, pulling me down with him.

"Yeah" he whispers, his voice thin.

he doesn't sound like his normal, big voiced self. Did I do something?

"Is something wrong?" I Hesitated. He just stared at me, and I took this moment to look at his features. Vance was really quite pretty for a boy, he had a nice nose and bright eyes, and the softest looking lips. I could almost kiss the- I cut my thoughts off. I know he doesn't feel the same, so why am I feeling like this?

Vance plainly stared at my lips before answering,

"I guess."

"well what is it?"

He hesitated before scooting closer to me.

"I mean, I guess. I've felt off today, you know? Different."  His voice was calmer than normal.

"Yeah, I know. " I said solemnly.

He stared at my lips for a few more moments, did he think I wouldn't notice? Well at least he won't notice that I'm practically pink right now.

He cups my face in his hand before speaking again.

"Its just I've been wanting to do something for a long time but I feel like I'm never gonna be able to do it" he says softly, like the thing he wants is so far but yet so close.

I could smell the strong scent of Vanilla and coffee coming off of his jacket.

We just sit there, in the middle of a skate estate looking into each others eyes. Completely emerged in our own little bubble. I lean in just a fraction, forgetting that we were in public and I quickly lean back. But I guess Vance has other ideas. He leans in, so carefully, as though my face is glass and if he's to hostile it would shatter.

Slowly, his lips were on mine and it was like nothing else in the world mattered. I crept my hand into his hair and ruffled it gently. This kiss was all I've wanted for so long, and it feels even better then I'd imagined it to be. His lips were soft like snow, but as warm as a fire.

(JELP I CANT WRITE KISSES)

Vance pulled away from me, I gave him a goofy grin before noticing he was in complete disarray, he was about tearing up.

He pulled himself up and skated away, Wiping away both his tears and regret in one quick motion, leaving me here to look like an idiot who was just dumped on the floor.

I was about to cry
