BEFORE ALL THE PETTY FIGHTS AND ANGRY ACCUSATIONS, the Routledge family was happy. There were small moments, very few, to where they were just uncontrollably happy. Big John would be sitting in his Papa Bear chair, accompanied by Evie sitting on his lap as always. Rosemary right next to them holding John B with every ounce of happiness she felt.

Those moments never lasted though, something always started a fight, whether it was curtains, or how her mother didn't like what he did for a job. Eventually those happy moments just stopped all together, and suddenly it felt like two strangers living in one home.

Rosemary left right after the twins turned three, she took her things and packed up right in the middle of the night, she even yanked her three year old baby girl out of her bed and into a car.

Evie knew what her mother had done, but there was nothing she could do to stop her. Her mother had leeched her way into every aspect of Evie's life, and yet still abandoned her when she needed her.

Evie's mother went home one time in all thirteen years, they spent one thanksgiving together and it was tragic. They stayed for a week and somehow she managed to get her heart broken and watch her parents fight and continue to hate each other. After that Evie and Rosemary never went back to the Outer Banks, instead they were trapped in Brooklyn.

Evie's mother had somehow found a way to convince her ex-boyfriend telling her everything about their relationship would be more beneficial than keeping their integrity. After that Evie soon grew tired of her mother's backward plays to undermine her life, she eventually just started to get back by driving away her boyfriends.

After that lacked in results she eventually just left, she had been planning a runaway bride scene since she was thirteen but she never actually believed she would go through with it. Her neighbor, one floor down, gives her the ride of a lifetime and she ends up back at her old home.
