You awoke, your eyes practically bulging out of your skull as you sat up. You were drenched in sweat due to the nightmare you just had. Sighing, you swung your legs over your bedside and onto the cold wooden floorboards. You took a moment to collect yourself. The nightmare... they usually aren't as vivid as this one. To sum it up, the nightmare had been about you getting chased in the woods and tripping into a deep cave, causing you to fall. You could even feel the singeing pain as you fell into a stalagmite. A big one, at that. You even saw your entrails tangled in the rock, which most likely caused you to wake up. You shook your head violently, erasing the disgusting dream out of your vision. You stood up, headed to your bathroom, and shut the door. Today was a New Day.

You walked down the concrete sidewalk, admiring the warm colors of autumn. It was always wonderful when this season rolled around. The leaves crunching beneath your feet, the breezy wind, and being able to layer up so that you didn't have to show any skin. Unfortunately for you, that didn't stop creeps from coming up to you and asking for your number. You frowned, recalling a recent interaction with a strange male.

You were going to a friend's house to stay over that night, but as you were walking down the barren street, you noticed a man standing under a flickering streetlight staring directly at you. He was extremely tall and looked like a red devil. The worst part about him was that unnerving smile on his face. You could never shake it from your memory if you even tried.

Snapping out of the memory, you headed into your workplace. It was a little candy shop that you ran with a friend named Kevin. He was the only person you truly trusted in this town. Sure, there were your friends Lila and Jaune, but Kevin was different. You pushed open the door, the smell of candy wafting through your nose. A small smile made its way onto your face as you walked over to the counter, where you saw a bored and tired Kevin propped up against the counter's surface.

The male noticed you immediately, a grin forming on his face. "Oh hey, Y/N! I was starting to get bored." He chuckled. You huffed in amusement, admiring Kevin's antics.

"It's nice to see you too, Kev." You replied, heading behind the counter and next to your coworker.

You loved that you were able to work with a guy like Kevin. Yes, he could get a little pissy about certain things, but you didn't mind. He would always go off about 'these two kids that continuously ask for free candy every Halloween', which made you laugh when he mentioned it. You hoped nothing terrible would ever happen to him.
