Chapter Three

December 15, 2010
I was sitting in the corner of the room. It was 3 am. I could not sleep at all. I was worried because they took Billy at midnight and he has not come back yet. I was just hoping he was not with Abby. About an hour later Xander came to my room. It was dark in the room so I couldn't see that well. "Milly come here and help me." He said as he tried to open the door. "What do you need help with Xander?" I asked him as I got up and walked over to him. "I need you to move everything off your bed. I need to put Billy down and run and grab the first ad kit" "Okay!" I said as I grabbed everything off my bed and put it on the ground. He put Billy on the bed and ran out of the room he didn't even close the door but I didn't care about that about. I was more worried about my brother. I looked at Billy. He had blood all down his arm and some running down his neck. "What did she do to you brother..." I sat down trying to stay calm so I could help Xander if he needed more help. 2 minutes later Xander ran into the room. "Sit him up will you," He said to me as he started to get the stuff out that he needed. I sat Billy up and when I did that a lot more blood started to run down his neck. "WHAT DID SHE DO TO HIM!!!" I yelled at Xander and that causes him to jump a little because I have never yelled before. "Milly when she took him early it was because she had someone here to try and help be able to talk, but something went wrong. Abby and I ran into the room Billy and the teacher were in and we found Billy on the ground blooding and the lady was over him holding a book." He said to me while trying to calm me down. "Why would yall just leave him in a room with someone!! Why would y'all not let me be in there too!!" I yelled at him while backing up and I ended up hitting my back on the wall. I slid down the wall. I sat there staying quiet and just watched Xander try to make the blood stop.

1 hour later
Xander was done tending to all of Billy's wounded. Xander came and sat right next to me. He didn't even clean the mess up yet. "If it makes you feel better Abby grabbed the lady and took her somewhere. Abby would never let someone get away with doing that to someone she has to watch." He said to me as he pulled me into a hug. "Hey, Xander?" "Yes, Milly?" "Can I know what day it is please?" I asked him as I looked him in the eyes. "It's December 15. Why did you ask?" He asked me as he lifted my head up. "It's our birthday today..." I said in a sad tone. I moved my head from his hand and just put my head on his chest. "And how old would you both be today?" He moved one of his hands off of my back and put it on my head. "Tell me what year it is then I can answer you" "Well it's 2010." "Well, then we are 15 years old," I said to him. "Wow soon before you know it you'll be 18." He said to me with a little excitement. "One day I will be, but I don't want to be stuck here when I do," I said to him as I moved away from him. "Hey hey, one day you'll be free. I'll make sure of it." He said to me as he tried to grab my hand. "How would you know that Xander? How can you be so sure we will make it out?" I asked him as I looked him in the eyes and moved my hands away from him. "Milly I have been here longer than you. I get kids out of here without them getting hurt." He said to me as he put his hand on the side of my face. "How long have you been here Xander?" I asked him as I looked him in the eyes with a confusing look. "I've been here for seven years. They brought me here when I was nine." He said looking away from me. "So your 16 now?" "Yes, I am. Abby got tired of me following her here, so she gave me this job. I was told I have to watch every kid that comes here. I've seen so many kids here. Some of them go free and some end up dying here mostly because they will not eat." I could see in his eyes that he had so much regret. You could also see all the pain in his eyes. Being stuck here for seven years had to be a pain for him. "Xander If you do get me and Billy out of here please make sure you and Rome come with us. I will not leave if you two stay behind." I said to him as I wiped the tears from his eyes. "I promise you Milly that all four of us will leave together." He told me as he pulled me into a hug. I was unable to speak anymore. So I just rested my head on his shoulder. I ended up falling asleep and I guess he fell asleep because I woke the next morning next to him. He was still sleeping tho.

3 hours later
Abby came to my room and saw the door was open and then looked at me. I was sitting by my bed reading a book and Xander was laying on the floor with his head in my lap. He was still asleep and so was Billy. "Is Billy okay?" Abby asked me. "If we keep his wounds clean then yeah he'll be okay," I said to her as I put my book down. "I'll let Xander stay here but please when he wakes up tell him I need him upstairs," She said to me. "Yes, ma'am I will tell him" "Thanks, Milly. I'll have someone bring all four of you some food in a little." She said to me as she walked away. I watched her as she went over to Rome's room. She opened the door and told him he can come here to my room. I patted the spot next to me for Rome to sit right there. He sat next to me and I started reading the book to him. About an hour later he fell asleep on me.
