Chapter 5: The Chase

Day 1
The sun rises as morning approaches
Malaya Yawns
Malaya: Good morning guys.
Vortex: Morning.
Loona: *yawns* Morning
Malaya: How did you all sleep?
Vortex: Ok-ish
Loona: Not well. I've been worried sick about Grayson.
Malaya: Yeah, same here. We have to find him. Maybe Bigfoot got him stuck somewhere.
Vortex and Loona nod as they head outside and follow the mechs deep footprints
Vortex: Anytime got any idea on how we can do some damage to Bigfoot?
Loona: Well, the missing people's supplies should be very useful. I saw some bear traps there. That could help
Malaya: Yeah, they seemed to have a good idea what Bigfoot could do
The three walk for a bit until the track stops
Loona: The foot prints stop here.
The three look around
A piece of metal falls and hits Malayas shoulder
Malaya: Oh my....
Vortex and Loona look up
Loona: What?! Graysons Mech is indestructible! How did this happen?!
Vortex: Does this dude have any weaknesses?
Malaya: Not sure. He didn't seemed frightened by Gray's Mech, despite it being 5 times his size
Loona: This dudes tough for sure.
Loona looks to her right
Loona: Guys look at this!
The two walk over to her
In front of then is a trail of broken trees
The three run along the trail until the get to the cliff
Malaya: No....
Graysons General Hat lay at the edge
Vortex: He couldn't have....
Loona: No. I don't believe this. I WONT believe this
The three peak over the edge
Malaya: So deep, you can't even see the bottom
Loona: Did he take Bigfoot down with him?
A roaring is heard behind them
Loona: Ah shit
Bigfoot jumps up and smashes down on the Ground where Loona is
Loona dodges and the three blast Bigfoot withe their Shotguns

Malaya: Coward
Loona: He legit just smacked us and left
The group laughs
Malaya: Maybe he's less aggressive in the day
Vortex: Yeah, maybe he's like a nighttime predator
Malaya looks back at the cliff
Malaya picks up the General Hat
Malaya sheds a tear
Loona and Vortex put their hand on her shoulders
Loona: We all miss him, Girl.
Vortex: But we're gonna take out Bigfoot for him!
Malaya hugs the two
Malaya: Thanks guys. I needed that.
Just then, Malaya gets a call on her radio device
Malaya: Hello?
WolfGod: Malaya! I'm so glad you're safe! I assumed you have encountered Bigfoot by now?
Malaya sniffles
Malaya: Yeah...
WolfGod pauses
WolfGod: I know what happened, and you can mourn more later, but right now you need to get ready to battle Bigfoot. Days are crucial. Bigfoot isn't as mean in the day, so this is the time to look for resources and explore.
Malaya: Yeah I know you're right. But my best friend is missing. Please tell me he's alright.
WolfGod sighs
WolfGod: I'm sorry, May. He's gone.
Tears roll down Malayas face
Malaya: Bigfoots dead for sure.
WolfGod: I like that attitude. Do this for him. Stay safe.
WolfGod hangs up
Loona and Vortex look at Malaya with concern
Malaya Wipes her face
Malaya: I'm fine. Let's just head back to the trailer and set up there.
Malaya passes the two and goes back to the trailer
Vortex and Loona look at each other before following
They arrive back at the trailer
Malaya: Alright, let's see what we got
Malaya looks at where she and Grayson found the hunting equipment
Malaya: Let's set up some of these bear traps
Vortex: Sounds good.
Vortex takes 3 of the bear traps and puts them around the trailer
Vortex: Bigfoot must be pretty smart if he made that trap that crushed Grays Mech. I doubt he'll just walk over these.
Vortex looked around and spotted some bushes
Vortex gets a clever idea
He grabs and bunch of tiny leaves from the bush and disguises the trap
Vortex dusts his hands off
Vortex: Not bad, Vortex.
Loona and Malaya are looking through the supplies in the trailer
Loona: Hey May?
Malaya: Yeah?
Loona: How do you feel about Vortex?
Malaya blushes and shoots Loona an embarrassed glance
Malaya: He's hot.
Loona: Yeah, I know right? Very dreamy
Malaya: I don't think I'm his type
Loona: He said he thinks you're cute.
Malayas face is burning red
Malaya: Loona!
Loona laughs
Loona: Not lying
Malaya takes a deep breath
Malaya: He seems like a cool guy
Loona: Yeah, him and Gray are really tight
Malaya: Makes sense.
Loona: You and Gray seem pretty close as well
Malaya smiles
Malaya: Yeah, we are.
Loona: He's makes a great leader
Malaya: Oh yeah for sure!
Vortex walks in
Vortex: Alright set up the traps and disguised them. I put them around the trailer so watch out for them
Malaya: Sounds good, Vortex. Thanks
Vortex smiles
Vortex: Sure. Also, you can call me Tex, May.
Malaya smiles
Malaya: Tex. Ok
Vortex: Find anything else?
Loona: These rifles we don't really need since we already have guns, but there is tracking bullets here, so we could track Bigfoot
Malaya: Ooh I like that. How do we use them?
Loona: Hmmmm
Vortex looks outside
Vortex: Almost night
Loona and Malaya look through the stuff
Malaya pulls out a red gun
Malaya: What is this?
Loona: That's a flare. Not sure that would be useful.
Malaya: Ooh! I found cameras!
Vortex: Nice! We'll have to set them up in the morning.
Loona: Can I see them for a sec?
Malaya: Sure go ahead
Malaya hands Loona the cameras
Loona inspects them
Loona: These seem to have motion detection
Vortex: For real?
Loona: Yep!
Malaya: That's useful for sure
Malaya: I've looked through all my stuff
Loona: Yeah, same.
Vortex: Have we checked everything?
Loona and Malaya walk around
Malaya: We didn't check the fridge, did we?
Loona: I don't believe so
Malaya opens the fridge to see 6 pieces of meat
Malaya: God that smells bad
Loona: Lord knows how long its been here
Vortex: Wait, what's that?
Vortex points to a piece of paper next to one of the meats
Malaya picks it up
It was another note
Malaya reads it out loud
"Dear John. Me, Sam, and Ruby are out looking for Bigfoot. We left some meat and flares with you along with some traps. Use the flare to signal us if you see Bigfoot or you can shoot him with it to scare him off. Bigfoot is attracted to meat some after you set your traps, disguise them with bushes, leaves, branches, etc to increase your chance of catching him. If things get bad, you know there a black safe under the couch. The code is 2710. There's a big weapon in there. Sorry you couldn't come with us, kid, but you're too young for this kind of job, but I promise you'll have your moment. We should be back before bed time. Stay safe, son.

Vortex: Yeah! I'll grab a-
Vortex is cut off by a roar
The group looks outside
It's nighttime

Night 1
The group gets geared up and heads outside
Vortex grabs some meat and meats up the traps
Loona: He should he here any second now...
Bigfoot emerged from the shadows
He roared and charged at the three
Malaya shoots him with an AK
Loona shoots him with an M16
Vortex Blasts him with a Shotgun

Vortex dodges to the side and get Malaya and Loona to safety as Bigfoot smashes into the trailer

Vortex goes hand to hand with Bigfoot
Vortex land one Punch and then he grabs the side of Bigfoots face and smashes it into the trailer multiple times before throwing him back

Loona jumps on him and stabs his chest with a big knife

Loona leads him to one of the traps
Bigfoot steps in it roars in pain

Bigfoot pulls out a sign and fiercely stabs it into Loona stomach
Bigfoot looks up at the two and roars before retreating
Vortex and Malaya: Loona!!!
Loona Grunts on pain before coughing up blood
Loona: Sss.....orry....guys..*grunts*......finish this.....asshole....for me....k?
Vortex: No! Loona! No!
Loona holds Vortex and Malayas hands
Loona: We....got him.....good that time.....I know....you....can.....finish this......keep....m...o...v...i...n...g
Loona stops moving

Vortex and Malaya hug and cry together
Vortex: It's up to us, May. We have to finish this
Malaya: Absolutely
Malaya and Vortex rush inside and retrieve the safe the note mentioned
Vortex: What was the code?
Malaya: 2710 I think?
Vortex tries it and it opens
Inside was dynamite
Malaya and Vortex: Hell yeah😎
They grab it as they hear another roar
He was coming back
Quickly, they placed 2 of the dynamite near the 2 remaining traps
Vortex looks at the rifles
Vortex: Follow me, May. I have an idea
Vortex hands Malaya 1 of the sniper rifles as he takes 1 and they climb ontop of the trailer
Vortex: If we stay quiet and in the dark, maybe he won't see us
Malaya: Sneak attack should be pretty effective
Bigfoots rumbling draws closer...
They stay silent and watch
Bigfoot emerged
He doesn't appear to notice Vortex or Malaya
He smells the meat on the traps, but it's dark so he can't see where it is
Then he steps on the trap and roars
Vortex: Now, May!
Malaya set off one of the dynamite

He jumped at them only to miss and fall back down
He landed on another trap

Malaya: We can't stop now!
Vortex: We finish this now.
