"Ember?"

"What?" She asked looking up from the sink. I took a deep breath and prayed that I wasn't about to lose the most important person in my life.

"Can we talk?" I asked, rubbing my sweaty palms on my jeans.

"Sure." She said turning around and leaning back against the counter with her arms crossed across her chest.

"Remember that girl I told you about? The one I was interested in?"

"Of course. Didn't you just apologize to me for this like an hour ago?" She laughed.

"I was thinking of telling her how I feel about her..." I mumbled rubbing the back of my neck.

"That's great Hannie!! What's her name? I need to know all about her!" She said excitedly running over and hugging me.

"Who is she?"

I pulled away from her and looked her in the eyes, those light brown, honey like eyes that were always so beautiful to me. Taking a shaky breath I spoke.

"You"  I said quietly between us as I brushed a piece of hair out of her face and put my palm to her cheek. The smile faded from her face slowly but she wasn't running away. That's good right? Please, dear god, tell me I didn't just screw up.

"m-me?" She stuttered, still not sure of what exactly was happening. By now she was so close to me I couldn't think. I looked at her face, her lips, her eyes, and put my other palm on her other cheek pulling her closer to me and pressing my lips to hers. It took her a minute to kiss me back, but when she did she tightened her arms around my waist. The kiss was short, it was simple, but it made me feel like I was on top of the world.

When she pulled away from me I searched her face for any sign of rejection, but I didn't find it. She stood there quietly with her arms still around my waist and my palms on either side of her face. We stared at each other for what felt like an hour, but it was probably only a minute or so. She leaned into me again and pressed her lips against mine. This time I lost my balance slightly and she backed up to a wall. I moved my hands from her cheeks down through her long hair and to the back of neck and then back of her head.

This time when she pulled away she had a huge smile on her face. "I've had feelings for you for years, Hannie." She said quietly as I pressed my forehead against hers. "I just didn't know how to tell you."

I smiled widely and kissed her forehead, "I've been in love with you since the day I met you."

"You love me?" She said in the most adorable way, smiling up at me brightly.

"I love you." I said as we stood there together in the dimly lit kitchen. Nothing else in the entire world existed except us in this room, in this apartment, in this city.

"I love you too, Hannie" She whispered as I turned us around and pinned her against the wall. I moved my lips to her neck and we started clumsily walking toward the stairs to her loft. Not for one moment wanting to be too far apart from each other.

At the top of the stairs, she pulled my shirt up over my head and slowly ran her fingers along my bare skin. I kissed her neck and pulled her t-shirt over her head, revealing her bare chest. She was beautiful, her skin was so creamy and smooth. In my head, this didn't seem real. I slid her shorts down over her hips and walked her back towards her bed. She undid the button on my jeans and pushed them off of me . Feeling her hands rove over my body while she looked up at me was something I'd always dreamed of.

In turn I also let my fingers explore her body. I took my time, kissing and relishing every single part of her that I could. Trailing kisses from her mouth to her neck, shoulders, her chest, and down to her navel before bringing myself back up to her again. I'd been dreaming about this since I was fifteen, I wasn't going to rush through it. She ran her fingers through my hair and had her legs wrapped around my waist pushing me farther into her. I burried my face in her neck as pleasure overtook me. She moaned loudly in my ear, luckily not loud enough that her neighbors could hear. To be honest, though, I didn't really care who could hear us. My dream girl just told me she was in love with me.
