Iowa, Clint Barton's Homestead| 2016.
"Wow!" Lila exclaimed looking at the big water figures coming out from the small creek in the front yard of the Barton's farm.
Vera had been making all sorts of forms and figures that Lila and Cooper asked for, it started with an unicorn, a truck, and then it became an animation contest of the avengers.
A "water made" hulk was dancing in the air while Vera moved her fingers with a very determined look on her face.
"Can you do aunt Nat, Auntie V?" Cooper asked excitedly, he had big eyes and a lot of new found enthusiasm when it came to Vera's powers.
"Of course I can," she took the challenge and changed the hulk's figure to a short haired black widow, she was exactly like the original, even though the water wasn't the best element for the task, all the face features were very accurately done.
"Good to know you already got over Natasha," A male voice distracted her from her art, and the body of water that was giving life to the black widow imitation fell back to the creek.
"Dad!" Lila cried, "you made her drop it!" She said shaking her head disapprovingly.
"I'm sorry guys, momma said breakfast is served," he announced smiling at his children, "go wash so you can eat", he ordered and both kids left reluctantly making Vera laugh.
"They asked me to do hers, you know?" Vera clarified going back to Clint's comment about Nat.
"Right, of course," he said sarcastically, "totally believe you." He nodded faking a serious look.
"You jerk," Vera scoffed punching Clint's shoulder.
"Ouch!," he said laughing at the girls offense, "you're stronger now, Stark, get a grip," he said with humor while taking a sit next to her on the grass.
"Sorry, I forgot you were just the arrow guy around the big important heroes" she shrugged looking away waiting for a comeback.
"Oh that's low, even for a Stark," he replied attempting to hide his laugh, "I missed you, smartass." He said looking at the girl next to him.
"I missed you too, Hawkass," she said causing Clint to laugh at the nickname, it's been years since he heard that one, he would never admit it to her but he also missed it.
"Did you though?" Clint suddenly asked, trowing a rock to the creek.
"Missed you? Of course I did," she said looking at the man confused.
"No," he laughed turning to face her, "did you get over Tash?" He clarified, no hesitation, no sugar coating it.
"I don't know," Vera said honestly and she let out a breath, "it's been a long time Clint," she looked to her bare feet which were covered in dirt, "I think I'll always love her," she said lifting a group of water with her fingertips and directing it to her skin, cleaning off the rest of mud resting on the palm of her feet.
