"What do you mean she can teleport? What the hell does that even mean?" Tony scoffed, exasperated, his hands running carelessly through his hair. The man had been passing back and forth for the past hour, trying to wrap his head around the fact he had to carry his passed out daughter to the medical bay.

"C'mon dad, for such a smart guy, you're a little slow today," Vera joked but in return got a scolding look from her father. The nervous smile that lay on her lips immediately wiping off.

"Tony, we just found out, we've been running tests and-" Banner tried explaining but that only seemed to make the situation worse.

"You've been running tests on my child without me knowing?" He walked dangerously closer to the man, completely ignoring the fact that one hint of anger could trigger his not so friendly alter ego.

"Okay," Vera positioned herself in between the men, "Let's not," her hand carefully pushing his father chest away, "I'm not a child nor a minor, I don't need your consent, only my own," Her tone harsh, "I'm not trying to be rude here, dad, but if I told had you before I could even understand it myself, wouldn't that make you panic even more?"

A hurt look settled on Tony's face but slowly drifted away, she knew him well, with a nod he took a sit over the doctor's desk. "Alright, so what now? Why is she fainting?"

The room fell silent for a second, neither one of them wanting to answer that. Bruce and the girl shared a look. "We don't know." Banner said in a whisper.

Again it seemed like Tony was loosing years of life by the amount of stress he was experiencing. "You don't know?" He inquired sarcastically about to snap the man in half.

"Well, you see-"

Before he could even start defending himself, someone barged into the room without waiting for an invitation. "What's this I hear about my favorite girl coming home but no one told me?" The tall figure with an eye patch asked loudly from the door.

Recognizing the voice instantly, the brunette looked up at the source and couldn't help but smile widely at the presence of no other than the Nicholas Fury. "Uncle Nick!"

She speedwalked jumping over the man, wrapping his neck with her arms in a warm hug. The man laughed heart heartedly reciprocating the embrace. "Vera Stark, you're a sight for the eyes!"

Bruce looked at Tony confused but he shrugged in response, understanding the enthusiasm. Vera was a level 8 field agent on SHIELD before she was taken by Hydra, she was recruited by Fury short after Natasha introduced her to him, revealing her real identity. The Stark girl ranked up rather quickly inside the organization thanks to her previous battle combat experience and her out of common intelligence. Fury of course grew fond of her ever since. "You look different, did you change your eye patch?" She smirked.

Fury looked at her amused, "ha ha, still a comedic genius I see." He fake laughed making the girl laugh loudly in response, "nice to see you too gentlemen, why the long faces?"

"Your niece here is a little pandora box, that's why," Sarcasm slurring through his words.

"So I've heard! You got some magic tricks huh?" He playfully pushed her shoulder with his own. The brunette smiling smugly, if he only knew.

"Oh, not only that, she can also make herself disappear without the magic wand," He hissed making the taller man confuse.

"Invisibility?"

"No," Vera scolded Tony with a look, "He's just overreacting because we learned I can somehow teleport."

"But that sounds useful!"

"She also faints every time she does," He deadpans and realization hits the older man's face, an "o" form settling on his lips.

"So, not useful..."

Again, Tony groans growing frustrated. The group ended up falling into a pointless discussion about the scientific reasons this could have happened. When Vera was in Wakanda she received training to be in control of her powers, at least elemental manipulation she had it covered, for the most part. That was the whole reason she was chosen to help Wanda in the first place.

The entire situation triggered Tony's memories from when they brought her back from Hydra. The thought of a scared Vera with no knowledge of her own force making his heart grow worry.

When she first got back she was dangerous, not only due to her new set of skills, but because she had absolutely no control over them. It was like giving the power of the sun to a child who didn't know how to use it without getting burn. Strong feelings made her snap and cause fires, a simple argument could make the girl so angry she could drown a person with a wave of her hand.

Blinded by worry, they kept talking about the Stark girl as if she wasn't standing in the same room listening to every word they said.

"So we help her control it, Tony, calm down!" Bruce exclaimed already irritated by the constant back an forth.

"Oh yeah? Like you can control your big green monster?" He challenged.

"Gentlemen," Fury warned, trying to ease the mood, already sensing the bad outcome.

"No! Tell me Banner, how are you planning on helping her if you can't even put a leash on it." His tone raising, "there is no one here capable enough so do not tell me to calm down."

Bruce clenched his jaw but tried his hardest to calm himself down, knowing damn well what would happen if he didn't. Tony was playing with a timebomb but he couldn't care less, of course. Vera cleared her throat standing up from the gurney, "I'm going to leave now, I'm officially done with this conversation."

"Vera," Ignoring the calls she simply left the room, her head pounding by all the screaming. The men stood there, mentally going through their options. Tony was being an asshole but he was also right, nobody on the team had the proper training to help Vera, she could always go back to Wakanda but that would mean sending her away again, and not even that could guarantee they could help her, wakandian technology could only do so much. That was something neither of the parties involved wanted to do, that's when Fury's lightbulb lit up, he had contacts, he had people, he had someone he knew would be up for the task.

"I know somebody who can help," Fury stated out of nowhere and pulled a small device from the inside of his jacket, pressing some buttons he sent a memo on his pager and smiled proudly when it lit back up in response. She could definitely help.

In the meantime, Vera Stark laid comfortably on the living room's leather couch, she couldn't stop thinking, her mind traveling a hundred miles per hour. Every time she tried digging deeper it's like her head rejected the advances, she couldn't concentrate in one simple thought and a headache was growing by the second. She closed her eyes trying to get her brain to stop torturing her.

"Uhm, Vera?" Steve's voice rang in echo across the big room. She opened one eye looking at the man.

"Hm?"

"There's a mission in five, are you up for it?" He said as if he was offering to grab drinks after work.

Vera nodded eagerly standing up from the couch in one quick movement, that's what she needed to get her mind out of things, a good fun mission; since the blonde man first banned her from participating this was the first time actually going out of the compound and doing what she was good at. This was it.

"Lead the way, Rogers."

Oh, if only she would have known what this mission would become.
