Ace had been staying more and more at the Matthews house any chance he could get, his parents not wanting him around as much as before. Not that his best friends family ever minded that he was around.

Currently the male was standing in the kitchen watching as Cory and his father got ready to go watch some Navy Blue Angels fly around in the sky. Ace was a bit jealous of how much Cory was able to spend time and do things with his parents.

"Better to be living men." Amy joked about with them as she set two apples into their paper bags. Cory groaned about having manly food. "Come on, Cor momly food." Ace chuckled softly as he listened to the banter between the three.

Just as Ace stood, Morgan walked into the room asking about the angels and wanting to go see them. Cory looked shocked that she would even want to do that, because it was supposed to navy planes not angels from the sky.

Morgan walked out before Cory could even finish his sentence, as well as Ace who followed the girl as she had taken his hand to bring him with her. Amy yelling out that she got the door as it rang, Ace gave Eric a small smile as he was on the phone.

"Morgan, what would you like to do?" The little Matthews women motioned over to her tea set, and just like that the two invested themselves into a make belief tea party together. Ace enjoyed the time he spends at the Matthews household, and the family felt the the same way.

The bell rang, Amy came into the living room, Eric was still on the phone telling the girl he was talking to that she could wear a turtleneck. Apparently he sucked a neck, Ace looked a little disgusted by it but left it along anyway.

"Mrs. Matthews, Leonard Spinelli. I'm Mr. Matthews' assistant manager." The awkward male greeted Amy, who chuckled softly at the male and told him she knew who he was. Even Ace knew the male, having seen him a few times he was here and at the store.

"Okay Morgan, I should probably be getting home now, I have some things to do. I will be back before you know it," Ace told the youngest Matthews, standing and giving her a quick hug. Saying a bye to Eric who was still on the phone, he told the older Matthews to tell his parents and brother he'd see them later.

Leaving the Matthews household, the male was quick to head home, he was sure the house would be empty. His parents were never home, and if they were, it was not pretty. They usually verberally abused him, it never got physically, and the boy hoped it never would but you can never be sure.

However, the one time he had opened the house would be empty, however the car in the driveway, spoke louder than any words spoken today. Taking a deep breath, the male opened the door, slowly his parents voices could be heard from the living room.

"There you are," The shrill voice of his mother spoke from the sofa, Ace tried to smile at the two he had reluctantly calls his parents who don't even act like it. "Disgrace child, you have the usual list of chores that you can do before allowing you to go to bed."

"Yes mom." Ace mumbled softly, taking his back to his bedroom, before leaving to the kitchen to start on whatever he was told to do. As Ace had been doing his chores, he knew that Shawn would be more than worried when he goes to school tomorrow, as he almost always called his friend when he left the Matthews and made it home.

The night for Ace did not go well, his parents or well, the people he was supposed to call his parents, had not been happy at the display of chores he was forced to do. Apparently they were not up to their standards.

Tonight, Ace knew was one of the many nights that he would probably be getting phsyically abused now. He realized he had jinxed himself after thinking about that being the only thing his parents hadn't done. The litter of bruises now promises of more to come as he laid on the floor in his bedroom.
