Ace had been a nervous wreck, the geograpy test from last week was being handed back and he was hoping for at least a good mark. He had tried to study as best as he could, he wanted to do well even if he had no one to show these marks to.

"I have graded last weeks geography test, and the highest score was achieved by-" Before Mr. Feeny could even get out who it was, even though the whole class knew who it was. Cory had taken that moment interrupt the male.

"Minkus? Was it achieved by Minkus? Does it go to Minkus? Minkus, right?" Cory tried to make what he had said to be funny, at least Ace thought that's what he was going for. But no one laughed, not even Shawn had. That's when you know

"Cor, knock it off. You don't gotta be rude all the time," Ace turned to look at his friend with a slight galre. He didn't get what their problem was with Stuart. What? He was smart, so what.

Getting handed his test after Cory had complained about getting a C, Ace sighed softly. Quickly stuffing the test into his bag, he looked up as Mr. Feeny wanted to talk about the geography tournament.

"As some of you may know, for the past five years I have always fielded a champion. I expect to do the same this year. So, based on his outstanding scholastic achievement. I have selected as this year's entrant-"

Ace groaned softly as his best friend once again made the same joke with Stuart being the one to go tothe geography tournament. Feeny didn't seem as impressed with it as well, just said the students name and walked over to his desk.

Looking towards his two friends when Mr. Feeny had told them about the first place prize, he knew something would happen. Ace shook his head slightly as the bell rang for the end of the day.

Shawn walked out with Ace as their other friend had stayed behind to try and win Mr. Feeny over. Ace explained that there would be no way Feeny would do it, this is Cory they were talking about.

"Oh come on, I'm sure Cor will be able to get through to Feeny." Shawn ruffled his friends hair, Ace brushed his hand away. "Come on, we need to get Minkus."

"Shawn I want no part of whatever you are doing, I don't think Stuart would even want to agree. It would take a miracle for it to happen where Stuart Minkus agreed to a plan conducted my Shawn and Cory."

Shaking his head Ace decided to head home, he had told his friend he wanted nothing to do with this. That he was sticking true to, he didn't care if whatever plan they came up with, he knew it would fall apart.

Getting home to a house with his parents inside was not what he was expecting, he had thought they would be gone already. He knew they always were. Setting his bag down, he stood in the doorway to the living room.

"Ace, honey." His mother's unsettling sweet tone, did not sound promising. "We have news," He felt his blood run cold, he never liked news not when it came from his parents. "Your father and I, we're getting a divorce."

"I've been cheating on your mother for a few months," His father's gruff voice filtered through the air. Ace hadn't expected this, he always knew his parents weren't perfect, but the least they would do was be happy with each other.

"I'll be leaving tonight," Mrs. O'Conner told her son, she hated being this formal with him. So, without skipping a beat she stood up. "I'm signing over cudosty and parental rights to your father. I want nothing to do with you,"

His heart broke, he knew his parents had hated his guts, he knew that. But hearing his mother actually say it, in such a sweet tone, hurt. Ace nodded his head, not saying a word. He feared if he had dared to open his mouth and say a single word, he'd crack.
