After greeting his mother and brother in the morning, Mark straight away left the house without touching breakfast at all. Mark didn't really have time to eat breakfast at home even though his mother insisted, he has an early morning class today. After all, he had an appointment with someone and intended to meet him before class started.

Mark just rushed to buy a sandwich from the convenience store around his campus and ate it on the way. He greeted the security guard at the campus gate before darting into the main building. Mark stepped swiftly towards the pact; cafeteria on the second floor. The black-haired man checked his cell phone and stepped onto the stairs, not at all afraid that he might step on the wrong foot. The person he was waiting for had yet to come.

He didn't think much of it and sauntered into the cafeteria, where he sat down at a table adjacent to the parapet so he could look around the outside of the building.

His eyes caught a brown-haired figure who had just arrived and immediately meandered towards the arts faculty building.

Michael.

Mark propped his chin up, the Halberg's gaze focused on Michael who had no idea he was being watched. Michael suddenly stopped in his tracks, the look on his face showing he was deep in thought, possibly forgetting something. Mark memorized his character, it made Mark snort a little and smile amusedly. Then Michael shrugged and resumed walking carefree.

Mark's smile slowly faded, his lips formed a straight line and now his gaze sharpened as he looked away. Waiting impatiently for someone's arrival.

There weren't many people in the cafeteria considering it was still too early for all the students, so Mark decided to close his eyes and strain his ears instead. He could hear the faint conversations of the two or three people who had been in the cafeteria before he arrived, he could also feel the light breeze from outside the cafeteria.

There was the sound of footsteps, this time closer to him. Thinking that it was the man he was waiting for, Mark's eyelids slowly opened. His night eyes collided with eyes as fresh as summer leaves.

"McGarden," Mark said spontaneously, only to be greeted by a greeting smile from the man in front of him. "What are you doing here?"

The man, he knew him as a friend of that annoying redhead, Daniel McGarden, pulled up a chair and sat across from him. There was nothing wrong with McGarden, in fact, Mark was smart enough not to turn on someone just because that person was friends with someone he didn't like. He paused and waited for a reply from McGarden.

"I have class in the morning and accidentally saw you." McGarden finally answered.

"Then shouldn't you hurry up?"

"Hmm, not really. My lecturer is always late for class." The man gave him a warm smile, Mark blinked and glanced the other way. "What about you?"

Mark straightened his back and put one hand in his trouser pocket. "I also have a morning class."

McGarden tucked a strand of his beige hair behind his ear and gave him a small smile. "Did you have breakfast before leaving? I bought an extra sandwich if you want, and some canned coffee."

"Oh, no need," he declined the offer with a shake of his head, the faintest expression of disappointment he caught from McGarden.

"But at least accept the canned coffee, I don't really like bitter things."

A pusher.

Mark exhaled in surrender, then decided to just agree with the man's wishes. McGarden's face brightened again, he watched McGarden take out the can of coffee in question from his bag. Mark's eyebrows pulled up slightly to detect a few faint bruises on McGarden's arm. He squinted briefly to confirm his vision.
