The young prince stepped up in front of the dark mirror, waiting to have his chosen dorm called out. As expected, Savanaclaw was called out.
He smiled and went to join the small crowd of students that were already sorted. He glanced around the room and his eyes were caught on a girl, zoned out, standing next to the headmage.
The girl blinked and her eyes landed on the prince himself. Leona averts his sight away along with his head quickly but then looks back to see the girl had disappeared.
"Hello." Into the boy's ear, a soft whisper.
Leona flinched by the sudden voice. He turned around to see the same girl once again.
"Uhm... Hello."
Before the conversation could continue, the girl was dragged away by the current Housewarden of Savanaclaw.
"Don't mess with the new students. Especially Savanaclaw's, Princess."
"I wasn't going to mess with them! I was genuinely interested in making a proper friend this time."
Y/n crossed her arms, grumbling to herself.
After many were sorted into their dormitories, the Housewardens were calling all the new students and Y/n was running as fast as she could to the offices to obtain the roll papers.Tired, the girl ran straight to the Hall of Mirrors to just wait. About five minutes later, the group of boys arrived. "Housewardens. Please do the roll call and return them as soon as possible. Any missing students must be reported... Please explain the basic rules... You know the drill."
Y/n hands out the papers and stands aside for the students to go to their respective dormitories. She then spots the lion prince once again and gives a slight wave.
-----
It had been a few months since the ceremony. Y/n was doing an occasional check on the students, giving directions, dealing with any incidents, complains, bullying, rude comments or just plain stupidity.
The girl melted on the bench in the school courtyard. It was currently lunch and she had just dealt with a few difficult students and some tutoring.
"I miss when I was ten years old and all I got was princess treatment...~" Y/n grumbled to herself. Then, someone else sat on the bench. "So you're royalty?"
"No~ But like- I'm doing my part and I should be like- so happy but like- it's just so tiring! And like- ahh.."
"How many times are you going to say like before you get tired of that too?"
"Maybe like- a minute... Wait."
Y/n sat straight on the bench to look at the person talking.
In front of her was a lion-eared boy, with short dark brown hair, and beautiful green eyes.
"Oh hey! It's you! The prince from the Savannah. I'm Y/n! I sorta just live here in the school."Startled by the sudden introduction, the boy stayed silent for a moment "Leona."
The two teens kept talking about whatever they could think of. Leona had recently joined the Magift club and how he'd manage to get his team to win three in a row.
"Woah~ It's hard to balance on a broom that's like- really fast."
"I managed to balance fully when I was thirteen. All the bruises and cuts were just- ugh."
Y/n's eyes sparkled in admiration as she leaned in close. "Amazing! I couldn't even get on without falling last year- when I was fourteen. You're family must be so proud!" She beamed.
