Chapter 5: Logan

I knew something was wrong when I saw Meta Knight come down in a huff.

"Somethin' wrong, Meta Knight?" I asked.

"I came down here to tell you that you're going to Jungle Japes to fight Donkey Kong." Meta Knight said, "I know you can do it, Logan. You're our oldest, most experienced, and the strongest Mii brawler we've got."

"Well, then. Time to get into my fighter uniform." I said, then went into my room. I took off my t-shirt and jeans and put on a white t-shirt, black sweatpants, a red cloth, my black belt, black boots, and black gloves on. I went down to the Warping room and was met by the goddess Palutena.

"Come on, Logan. We've got a monkey to catch." She said.

"I'm guessing you're fighting with me?" I asked. Palutena laughed.

"No, I'm merely the transport. I'll warp you there, let you fight, and then warp you back!"

"Hmph." I said, and together we warped to the Jungle Japes.

I woke up and saw the stupid ape. Donkey Kong was standing above me, smiling. I swept my feet around me, causing Donkey Kong to land on the ground. I stood up and started charging my Flaming Dropkick. Donkey Kong stood up and I launched myself at him, legs ablaze. Donkey Kong blocked the attack and I rebounded in fronts of him. Darn! I thought. Donkey Kong grabbed me and threw me into the air, and to add insult to injury, jumped next to me and punched me away. I flew back but landed on my feet.

"Alright, punk. Let's do this." I said, charging my Exploding Side Kick. Donkey Kong ran right to me and I kicked hard, leg on fire. Donkey Kong flew back and crashed into his house. Heh. I thought. This was going good. Donkey Kong got up and charged at me. I blocked his ground roll but then he hit me with his Headbutt move, burying me into the ground and rendering me immovable. Oh no..! I thought. Donkey Kong started punching me, smiling. Blood started to trickle down my forehead. I managed to pull myself out and uppercut Donkey Kong away.

"Gwooh!" Donkey Kong grunted. While he was in the air, I used my Helicopter Kick move, striking Donkey Kong multiple times in the face with my feet before kicking him away. Donkey Kong landed hard on his back.

"How'd you like that?" I taunted. "Heh. And they said you were tough." Donkey Kong glared at me and hit me with a quick Smash attack, sending me flying. I landed on my feet, angry but okay.

"Still want more, eh? Well, here's seconds!" I yelled, then charged. I hit Donkey Kong with my dash attack and started charging a Smash attack. Donkey Kong fell in front of me and I punched him with all my might. There was a bright flash of red and white, one I'd become accustomed to. Donkey Kong was sent flying and the flash went away. The ape landed in the river and was carried away bu the fast-flowing water.

"Well, that was fun," I muttered, turning around.

"Where do you think you're going?" Said a voice behind me. I turned back around and saw Ganondorf! Darn! I thought, but sneered.

"Going where I want to go, you lousy warlock." I fired back. Ganondorf shot forward and grabbed me, then shot a bit of dark energy from his hand, making me collapse. Ganondorf put his foot on my chest and smiled.

"Listen, pops, I've got a big plan going on that you and your friends are interrupting." said Ganondorf, "However, you just put a very important instrument in my plan out of the ring." Ganondorf said, voice dripping with rage. I pushed Gannondorf's foot off of me and rolled back.

"So?" I said, "And what are you to going to do about it?" I stood up, ready for an attack.

"This!" Ganondorf yelled and kicked forward, leg covered in dark energy. I sidestepped out of the way and hit Ganondorf with a quick Smash attack.

"Palutena!" I shouted, and she warped next to me. "We need to go. Now." I told her.

"Oh, no you don't!" Ganondorf said, then charged.

"Counter!" Palutena yelled, raising her shield and blocking the attack. Then she hit Ganondorf away with her staff. "Acknowledged." Palutena said, then grabbed my hand. We warped out of Jungle Japes but heard Ganondorf's cry of fury as we left.

Back at the base, I saw Robin, Shulk, Zelda, and Lucario were talking to Mewtwo. I stopped walking and did a double take. Mewtwo? They got Mewtwo on our side?! I thought in disbelief.

"Logan," Meta Knight said, suddenly in front of me, "Status report."

"Target deterred, sir. We ran into Ganondorf but escaped. Meta Knight, have you notice that these Dark Legion hoodlums are getting stronger?" I asked, and Meta Knight nodded.

"Which is why acquiring Mewtwo was important. The Dark Legion will never know what hit them." Meta Knight said.

"Let's hope so." I sighed, but smiled. Mewtwo was on our side. Hopefully, now we would defeat Tabuu and his Dark Legion. However, some things were easier said than done.
