Chapter 23: Dark Pit

I was put into Pit's team. Marth and Roy were chatting, waiting for Link to get to the top. An idea suddenly sprung into my head.

"Hey, Pit! Grab Ryu, I'll take Marth, and Zelda, teleport the rest of us up there!" I said. They nodded, and I grabbed Marth and started to fly up, gradually gaining altitude. Suddenly, I started to fall. Oh, no! Not now! I thought, Palutena...give me and Pit an exception this time and let us use our Power of Flight until we get up there! I begged. Silence, then...Okay. "Yes!" I shouted, then Pit and I use our Power of Flight move. I shot up, and Marth looked down and gulped. When Pit and I landed on the roof, Zelda and everyone else were waiting, including Link, who was drenched in sweat.

"Next time you pull something like that, I would like to be teleported instead of taking forever to use my Hookshot!" Link playfully complained, and we laughed.

"Okay, that was funny, but we need to get in there." Samus said, and starting charging up a Charge Shot, When it was fully charged, she jumped up and shot the Charge Shot downward, and a hole burst in the ceiling. We jumped down, followed by Samus.

"Now we just need to find out where Tabuu is." Roy said.

"Oh, you won't be finding Tabuu anytime soon." A voice said, and we turned. Evil Luigi was there, grinning evilly.

"I fell to your power once, I won't do it again!" Marth shouted, and drew his sword.

"No!" I shouted, and Marth stopped. "I'll handle him. Save your energy for Tabuu!"

"Pitoo..." Pit said, and I turned and looked at him.

"Go, now!" I shouted, and everyone ran past me and Evil Luigi and deeper into the hallway.

"Tch, so I have to fight you?" Evil Luigi sneered. "Fine, but this hallway isn't big enough for us. Let's go to the Arena." He said.

"I'll meet you there." I said, and used my Warp Power. I warped to the Arena, a place with one way in and out. The floor was sand, and the walls cold hard bedrock. Evil Luigi materialized in front of me, eyes closed. I waited, and Evil Luigi's eyes shot open.

"Alright, let's do this! I've been waiting for this day forever!" Evil Luigi shouted, and charged. He thrusted a fist at me, which I side-stepped and retaliated with an Electro Shock arm to the stomach. Evil Luigi flew back, hitting the wall hard.

"What's the matter, am I too tough for you? Maybe I should go easy." I taunted.

"Shut up!" Evil Luigi roared, and a jet-black fist connected with my stomach and knocked both the wind out of me and myself, and I dropped to the ground. Evil Luigi laughed as the black fist disappeared, and he sprinted after me. I shot up and blocked the attack and threw my fist at Evil Luigi's face. He grabbed my arm, reversed my blow, and judo-flipped me to the ground. Evil Luigi laughed, but I kicked him in the face and stood up as he was reeling. Evil Luigi jumped and shot three blasts of dark energy at me, but I evaded them and shot an arrow from my Silver Bow. Evil Luigi wasn't hit and landed on the ground and lunged. I grabbed Evil Luigi and started to fall down. I threw Evil Luigi as I was falling and hit the ground softly. I stood up and saw that Evil Luigi wasn't so lucky.

"Had enough yet, Evil Luigi?" I taunted, trying to catch my breath.

"Not even a drop of enough." He shot back, then charged again. I wasn't ready and was hit with a Super Jump Punch. I shot up into the air, and Evil Luigi jumped up to my height and unleashed a super powerful Green Missile. I rocked diagonally and hit the floor on my face before bouncing back to hit my back on the wall. I slumped to the ground upside-down as Evil Luigi landed on his feet. I stood up and spit the blood out of my mouth.

"Had enough yet, Dark Pit?" Evil Luigi said mockingly. A single laugh burst from me and I cracked my knuckles.

"Not even a drop of enough." I said, copying his voice.

"Why, you--!" Evil Luigi said, and sprinted to me. I shot an arrow from my Silver Bow at Evil Luigi, which he dodged easily. But while he was distracted by the arrow, I used my Electro Shock arm to launch him back to the Arena wall again. Evil Luigi was hit but quickly stopped himself halfway to the wall and charged at me again. Evil Luigi used a fireball to distract me, but I wasn't going to fall for my own trick. I leapt into the air and shot an arrow downward at Evil Luigi.  He backflipped away form the arrow and jumped to my height. He grabbed me and turned me around so that I was going to hit the ground on my back. I reversed the grab and turned Evil Luigi so that his back was facing the ground, and I punched Evil Luigi's jaw and vaulted off of him just as he hit the ground. I landed on my feet just in time to see Evil Luigi stand back up. Evil Luigi laughed all of a sudden, which confused me.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"Nothing, well, that's a lie, but...just think, our strength and skill is practically the same!" He said, but then his face went from laughing to seriousness. "Why did you leave the Dark Legion, Pitoo?"

"I-I had to get out!" I said. "I've been a hero before, and I'm going to be one again! I'm tired of being evil! Don't you get it? You're going to lose, just like you and all villains are destined to. I left the losing side to become a hero on the winning side and regain everyone's trust!"  I shouted, and Evil Luigi laughed.

"Wow, are you stupid!" Evil Luigi said. "The Dark Legion is the winning side! Don't you see? All of the heroes are walking right into a trap, which includes all of the villains of Dark Legion! They're going to be ambushed and massacred before they even reach Tabuu's throne room!" Evil Luigi shouted. "Now, then. I think it's time that I finish things around here."

"Come at me!" I yelled at him.

"With pleasure!" Evil Luigi shouted back, and we charged at each other, screaming at the top of our lungs, holding nothing back.
