"Yes I can assure you I will be okay Mr. Bauer," you state in a reassuring voice,
"I'm a grown woman and I have been for years."

"I know dear, I just worry," Mr. Bauer replies in a croaked voice due to many long years of smoking and usage.

"Do not fret, I will only be operating  two towns over and I will be sure to visit," you say as you give the old man a weak half smile.

Mr. Bauer, or Klaus Bauer, was one of the many that lost everything. He stayed in his home town with his two cats and his old Knick knacks that he collected, down stairs in his home unit.
The old man had lost his wife of 58 years, his only son, and his two grand babies. You didn't understand how we still could look strong and keep his head up, for how old he is and living the rest of his days like he has so much more time left. Once you asked him how he does it, he only replied with a quick, "To be able to forget means sanity." You didn't understand nor did you want to.

Mr. Bauer, unlike many people, stayed true to others and you yourself. Most people became selfish and cruel probably due to the money and state of the world or how many people lost each-other, hiding from the world and grieving with their own pain in a special way.

Your hometown Marley took a turn forever after the incidents. Seeing everything turn wretched, people dying and decaying, loving then forgetting all in one timeline.

You put your last box labeled 'clothes' in the car and turned to Mr. Bauer.
"I will see you, okay? Please take care of yourself," giving him a pretend sad frown. In your mind you were happy to leave and to depart from your hometown, a longing desire to move far away so you can start new and fresh and free-

"Okay dear just give me one last hug before you leave," he smiled lightly. You hesitated for a slight second before he could notice, you wrapped your arms around his weak shoulders, carefully engulfing yourself in his nostalgic cigarette and cat hair smell.

After a second you free yourself while flicking his newsboy hat saying, "Be careful old man, I'll be back to visit."

You open the door to the buggy and slid into the back, being aware to not get your long trousers stuck in the door.
The driver man looked at you through both his glasses and rearview mirror as you gave him a small indication to drive on. The rumbling of the car turning on made Mr. Brauer take a few steps back due to how loud it was. You gave him one last, sad, quick smile and one wave then you were off.
Thrill took over your bones as you left. A rare feeling that you never felt anymore. Moving felt as if it was going to help you forget.

You were indeed pleased with yourself that you hadn't picked a place too far, with it only being a 45 minute drive, to a town you'd never set foot in.

As the car stopped, you thanked him and paid him a little extra to help you get your very few items unloaded. As you made your way out to the front, you took a good look. It was a small apartment with yours, being the down stairs dormitory and a vacant up stairs place. The building itself was tall and had bricks lined up. It was clear that it was old, meaning multiple missing stones and poor window trimming.

It was one the outskirts of the big city Liberio. There were a couple other houses that looked almost identical to the one in front, and down the street a local market, a newsagency, a few small restaurants, and an inning, but right across the street was your favorite; a tea shop.
