The moon drew its way through your curtains at twilight's peak. Sweat dripped down from your temple to your low cheek. You had realized what had happened; another nightmare.
It was your first night terror at your new dwelling. You knew they would come back eventually, they always do. They had always been the worst reminder. Unlucky days like these you only got a few hours of sleep, if any at all. It always contained the same setting at where it had happened too. Seeing the only people you had ever cared for in your life, die in front of your eyes, over and over again, like it had happened, just now.
You laid in bed tossing and turning in your white linen not knowing how many minutes or hours passed. The volume of your thoughts turned on, the only thing that attempted to cut the silence was your lone heartbeat that you could hear through your head.
That was until you had enough and decided to get up and start your day extra early. Your third day was going to be a bit exhausting figuring out how little you slept.
Getting up you saw that it was now early morning as the sun played in the sky, creating all kinds of extravagant colors before your eyes. You opened the window to your bedroom and brushed your fingers through your knotted hair as you made your way to the living room.
At times like this you would have nothing no other than a coffee if you had too. But you had made it your goal to cut all caffeine from your life and you did, unfortunately, throw out the small coffee maker when you departed.
Sighing, weary to yourself, you slipped on a pair of slippers that sat by the entrance. You unlocked the door and stepped out into the youthful day.
It was only quarter to 6 as you had taken a glance at the wall clock on your way out. A fresh breeze blew on your cheek that had just recently contained a layer of sweat. You immediately felt cooled off and thought as if you needed to get fresh air much quicker next time when you happened to have another nightmare.
The sun now rested right above Levi's tea shop creating a sunny hue that shone over it. Pink, yellow, orange all mixed in the sky, putting you at ease as if it was an old canvas painting.
Upstairs to the shop, you saw that same window you were gazing into the week before, had a light on. Figuring Levi is already up and ready to start the day. Downstairs was yet dim with no lights on and the open sign was still turned closed. A quick feeling of gleam washed over you as you thought about his tea. But you would have to wait about an hour to taste.
You estimated Levi's tea shop to open about 7 o'clock everyday, although you hadn't ever been up that early to see him open up shop. He seemed to be a man with a very persistent and precise time he would wake up everyday and get ready.
Turning around, you walked back inside to start your day. You lead yourself off with watering the few plants that sat on every other window seal and the one big one that also rested on the ground, next to your dining table. You opened up all the curtains, and then made your own way to the shower.
After taking a steamy 20 minute wash up, you dried your hair and brushed your teeth. You then got dressed into black trousers with a thin white button up. It was very simple but you were proud of it. You were always known for comfort over fashion.
Most of your young days you would get pestered and get made fun of from your Tom-boyish completion. You still did plenty of womanly things growing up, it was just mostly your wardrobe choice, being mostly hammy-downs as you weren't part of one of the richest of families.
You grew up with a strong man as a father and a mother who didn't have a care in the world for what she wore. It didn't matter to you although. You felt comfortable and that was all that mattered.
