"Did your class  like the pictures?" Matt asked when he came to pick up Anya at the end of her school day. Anya nodded with a big smile.  "They loved them!" she replied as she jumped over to him. Smiling, she hugged her father as soon as she was close enough.  Matt smiled, pretending to fall backwards. "Oof," he said as he returned the hug. "You're going to give the bad guys a run for their lives,'' he chuckled.

Anya giggled. "Bad guys are gonna wish that they never met me!" she added, waiting for the hug to break before she showed off her martial arts moves.  She had been watching her family when they were practicing. Matt smiled with pride as he watched her. Her moves reminded him of her mother. The way that she moved, the fluid  of her movements.

"I think that she's ready," Matt shrugged.

"Ready?!" Bethany shot her brother a look. "Look what it's gotten us," she went on and rolled her sleeves up to reveal old bruises.  "This really want her to get into this way of life," she added.  She pointed to each bruise to drive  home her point.

"At least she wouldn't be learning from us and not Stick," Matt offered.

"Are you completely brain dead?" Bethany shot back. She was frustrated at her brother for even thinking the way he was.

"What does Elektra think about all of this?" Bethany added, crossing her arms.

"I haven't told her yet," he said quietly.

"And why is that?"

"She'll kill me."
