The loud noise from downstairs woke Anya up. Uncle Foggy and her parents were arguing, again. As quietly as she could, she got up and tip toed to the edge of the stairs. She sat down on the first step, listening .

"Look," Foggy said as he brought his hands on his hips, "Anya is a great girl and I love her to death. But her mother is bad news. Always has been. Mark my words, she will break that little girl's heart," he shifted his gaze towards Matt, who was rubbing his the back of his head with his hand. He sighed heavily . Before he could say anything though, he heard a familiar heart beat.
He went to the stairs, where he saw that Anya was sitting. She had brought her hands up to her ears and was squeezing her eyes shut. She had tears streaming down the sides of her face.
She heard everything, he sighed as he headed up the stairs. Gently, he picked her up and he held her close to him. "It's ok, baby." He said in a soothing voice. "Aunt Bethany, Daddy, Mommy, and Uncle Foggy are just having a disscussion," he said as he rubbed her back gently. Anya wrapped her arms around her father's neck and she buried her face into the crook of his neck.

"Me? I'm bad news?!" Elektra seethed. "You have no idea how much it pained me to leave my little girl!" She felt her anger boiling up inside of her like a volcano getting ready to erupt. "I love that little girl with all of my heart. Hell, with all of my being! Do you what it's like to love someone so unconditionally and not be around for them?! How much it tears at one's heart and soul?!" She went on as tears formed in her eyes. Her hands balled up into fists and found themselves slamming into the table. Bethany got to her feet and walked over to the mother of her niece, placing her hand on her shoulder.
The younger Murdock glared at the Nelson in Nelson and Murdock. "Foggy," she said, trying to keep her own voice as calm as she could. "Until you have kids, you will never know what hell it is to not be around them. To never see them grow up. To be away from them because the very presence of you is enough to put their safety at risk," she went on with a quiet anger im her voice.
Foggy was about to respond when Matt brought Anya into the room. He was rubbing her back, and she was holding onto him like he was a security blanket.
"Enough," Matt said in the best parental tone that he could muster. "She heard everything. Every word . She hates seeing us fight."
