GOOD NEWS

Carina's POV :

After long minutes of cuddles, we pulled out.

"I'm gonna call CPS." I stated, standing up.

"What ?" Asked Bianca, obviously anxious of my announcement.

"I need to inform them, and they have to give their agreement." I answered.

"But- what if they say no ?" She questioned, starting to get worked up.

"I'm sure they won't mind. You need to trust us baby girl. Now let Carina make the call and come lay with me." Maya said, taking a hold of Bianca body and pulling her to lay down on the bed. "You still need to rest."

I smiled at my two girls and left the room. I quickly dialed the CPS number and waited.

"Miss Deluca, hello. How can I help you ?"

"Hi, I have some sort of request. As you know my wife's a firefighter and yesterday she rescued a young girl, injured by the storm. Unfortunately her parents didn't make it, so she's all alone. But we already form some kind of bond with her so I'm calling to ask you if we can take her in. Be her legal guardian.

"That's a lot Miss Deluca. First of all thank you for helping a child. Your file is very strong so I see no problem for you and your wife to take her in. I'll just need to have her first and last name, her date of birth and that's all for now. We'll see each other another time for further information."

"Perfetto. Gracie. I'll send you an email with what you asked. Have a good day." I answered and waited for her goodbyes before hanging up.

I decided to go check on Bianca's lab tests. When I looked at them, I was relieved to see that they were all pretty good. That meant Maya and I could take her to our home today. I made my way back to Bianca's bedroom, only to find her curled up on her bed with Maya. The young girl was asleep, probably exhausted with all the events she's been through in only two days. My wife was drinking some coffee, channel-hoping.

"Hi bellina." I said, sitting on the armchair next to the bed. "I have some good news, you may want to wake the bambina up."

"But she's so cute when she snores like a kitten." Maya pouted, staring at the sweet teenager. She finally gave in and bent over Bianca to gently kiss her forehead. "Hey sleepyhead, time to wake up." She tried, but Bianca was now obviously fake sleeping on Maya's arms.

I stood up and stroke her cheeks. "I just hung up with CPS bambina. Don't you want to know the amazing news they gave me ?" I teased her, obtaining a soft sigh. Her eyes slowly opened up as she rubbed the sleep out of them. I helped her sat up on the bed, between my wife's legs before starting.

"I won't make you wait any longer." I smiled. "CPS agreed. You got to come home with Maya and I."

"REALLY ?!" She screamed, jumping out of bed to hug me.

"Really." I replied, holding her, but being careful I didn't harm the fresh cut on her belly.

"And the second good news is, all your tests came back negative. It means you're clear to go whenever your doctor say so."

"And what did my doctor said ?" She asked anxiously, biting her nails.

I laughed. "I'm your doctor, tesoro. (sweetheart)"

Bianca hid her face in her hands in embarrassment, but I quickly took a hold of her arms.

"Don't hide this pretty eyes of yours. You want to know what your doctor, that means me, said ?"

She energetically nodded.

"Bianca Fiore Accardi can be discharged right now." I said in my doctor voice.

"HIIIIHIIIIHIIII" The young girl squirmed happily. I turned my head to Maya who had the most beautiful smile on her face. She mouthed something that I immediately understood. "We finally have a child."
