Confession time, for some reason this is one of my favourite parts I have written. You will all probably completely disagree with me but hey, here it is.
With a bit of luck the song should finish at just the right point...
"Night then, Ev." I pulled Evan into my shoulder in the lobby. He was staying where the majority of the team were, about a five minute walk from Daniel and I's hotel.
"Goodnight. Except it's not goodnight for you, is it?" Evan pulled away and smiled mischievously, his eyes darting all over the place.
"Uh, right...anyway," Daniel coughed and turned a shade of red. "Thanks for coming out tonight, it was good."
"Yeah man!" Ev scuffed his shoe on the marbled floor. "Enjoy your last night here, you two deserve it. Don't put your back out or anything though, not a good image."
"Thanks," I whispered and looked at Daniel as he put his arm around me, smoothing the fabric on my dress that had come ruffled by the walk back from the harbour.
"See you tomorrow, then." Dan grinned and we watched as Evan saluted and strutted off, not quite managing to walk in a straight line to the stairs.
It was a few seconds before the blonde turned around, although this time he wasn't smiling, he was looking as if he was regretting something.
"I really didn't think he'd head back this early," I said to Daniel as we walked back out into the night air.
"Neither, but he has been acting bloody weird lately. In a way I was surprised he came out."
"Seriously? This is Evan here. "
"Yeah-huh." Daniel steered me in the right direction as I took a wrong turn. I kept on forgetting how well he knew this place.
"So you're not going to complain if I just put the kettle on when we get back, have a cup of coffee and then go to bed?" I teased him, using the back pocket of his jeans as a hand warmer.
"I won't complain but I'll be really pissed off."
"How much is really?"
"Uh, I don't recommend you find out."
"I'll save my coffee until later then," I smirked, bumping into Dan as we climbed the hill to The Hermitage in the area of the Casino.
"Well, with what I had in mind, yes." It was Daniel's turn to smirk as his eyes lit up, looking more and more brown as the street lights too became brighter.
It was only a few more minutes before we strolled into our own hotel, Daniel twining his fingers with mine as the lobby took my breath away once more.
"I hope you had a good night, Mr and Ms Ricciardo," the receptionist called out, looking up from her desk. "Please call if you need anything."
"We will and we did." Daniel replied, "there's a bit more to come though." he said, only quieter, so only I could hear him.
---"No, shhhh." I held my fingers to his lips and I pulled him closer to me. "I mean we've got to be really quiet."
"We both know that I'm not the one who has the problem keeping quiet." Daniel gave me a look and my stomach flipped.
"I don't think so," I moved my finger to his bottom lip and traced it, feeling him tense under my gentle movement.
"Game on." he replied and immediately moved his hands up and under my dress to lift the fabric above my head.
"Here?" I whimpered, not exactly cold on the veranda of our suite. We had made it back, well, only just.
