(2) Statues of the Great Seven

You walked along the corridors of a dilapidated hostel.  Diluc has been peeking into the rooms looking at the broken windows and assessing the damage while you and Grim just looked around.

"Hey henchman!" Grim called out to you from one of the nearby rooms.

"Yes?" You walked out of the next room only to jump back screaming "Crowley?!"

The man stood in the middle of the corridor with a wide smile on his face and holding a package in one hand.

"Hello, Miss Y/n! In another gesture of my goodwill, I brought you dinner and clothes." He handed the package to the redhead who just approached.  He looked down the corridor and noticed a monster standing there.

"Wait! That's the monster we kicked out for making a fuss at the ceremony! What is he doing here?!" he exclaimed.

Diluc put the package on the nearest bedside table. "We let him stay. He is our only acquaintance in this world, and it began to rain outside."

"And we also met ghosts and were able to make friends with them" - you contributed.

"Now that you mentioned it, some prankster ghosts lived here, so the students stayed away from this dorm, and that's why it's empty now. I forgot about it." He rubbed his chin.  "So you were able to talk to them?"

The claymore user nodded.

"Yes!" the monster shouted, drawing attention. "But if they attacked, I would get rid of them in no time!"  He crossed his paws.

"Hmm.. if they attack.." he tapped his chin with his finger. "Could you three show me your ghost-killing techniques?"  Crowley said, looking up at the two.

"Hmph! No, because I want tuna. Plus, they've gone to hell!"

"Besides," you began before looking back at the man.  "I don't think anyone would willingly agree to be stabbed with a sword..."

"Ahem," the man cleared his throat before
speak.  “I will play the role of a ghost. And as for the tuna, you will get it when you defeat me. Oh, truly, I am truly generous…”
He smiled before taking the bottle out of his pocket and drinking it whole.

"Now take this transmutation potion!"  He said before a bright light flashed and in its place was a ghost.  "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."

Diluc looked at the ghost in surprise, just like you, before blinking and turning towards you.  "I won't be able to fight with my claymore in such a small space, so I'll leave it up to you."

You nodded, forming a sword in the air. "Ok! Grim, you will direct it with your fire in my direction. " You looked at the little monster.  "I'll give you a can of tuna"

"Um, okay, but after that, I'd better take my tuna!"  he said, ready to face Crowley's ghost.

The ghost disappeared before appearing behind you, causing you to quickly turn around."He's right behind!"  You screamed as you aimed your sword at your opponent, all the while Grim spit fire, making Crowley disappear before reappearing from the other side.

"You two seem to be very good at this!"  Crowley said before Grim's fire was thrown at him, immediately making him disappear again.

And so it continued until the effect of Crowley's potion ended.



"... Well?"  Grim said in anticipation, panting as he looked at Crowley as you tossed your sword into the air, causing it to turn into tiny particles of light.

Diluc approached you from his seat, standing next to you.

"Incredible! I have never seen anyone
bending the monster to his will, just like you.  I have to admit, my intuition as an educator sensed something special about you after all that ordeal during orientation.” Crowley said, his tone was pleased.
