The boy who had introduced himself as Vance climbed over the fence and made his way under the balcony. "What are you doing?" Finney asked simply watching as the boy tried climbing up, failing miserably. After a few more tries he gave up. "Could you let me in?" He frowned. "My father will kill me, i'm not supposed to talk to strangers..." Vance scoffed at the hesitantance. "I'm not a stranger." Finney wasn't sure what to do as he paused. Without thinking much the boy ran away from the window and exited his room, making his way to the front door.
Vance had made his way to the front of the house as well, knowing he'd let him in. When the door swung open the teen smirked as he was right. Finney quietly led the boy up to his room, he was too young and sheltered to truly see the danger in doing this but luckily Vance was just another bored kid. With a curious look the blonde boy ran his fingers across Finney's wing earning him a frown from the child. "My bad," He apologized, pulling his hand away. "It's okay." Finney closed his bedroom door quietly behind them.
"I didn't think angels existed," The blonde boy studied Finney who giggled. "I'm not an angel, sorry," Vance scoffed. "Why are you sorry about that?" He asked, eyes narrow as he watched Finney whose smile faltered as he grew increasingly anxious.
"I-I'm sorry–" he went to apologize again. "Stop talking," Vance demanded, the boy was awfully direct."Oh, okay..." Finney stood silently as he watched the strange boy mess with his stuff.
Vance had taken notice to the book Finney had left sitting on the bed. He smiled to himself as he walked over and began flipping through the pages, watching the pictures with not much notice to the words. "Do you like space to?" The winged boy asked trying to find common ground. Vance shrugged. "I guess, but my dad doesn't like this kind of stuff so I don't know much—its not like I can read about it or anything." Finney was surprised by the response. "Y-you can't read?" He asked recieving a nod. "I didn't have time for school... why? Is that a problem?" Finney shook his head. The boy never went to school either but his father had taught him how to read and write at a young age.
The winged child sat down next to the blonde. "I-I could teach you, if you want," He swallowed hard awaiting a response. "Really?" Vance's eyes lit up.
"Sure..."

Vance led Finney out of the office they had just been talking in as the captain began showing the guest around. The boy sharpening his knife eyed the winged teen once again—his gaze felt unavoidable. "Stop staring freak." Vance walked over to the boy as if he could read Finney's mind.
"I'm not staring, my eyes are simply in your direction," The brunette smirked, earning a small chrotle from Vance who turned to Finney. "If you say so. Anyway, Finn this is Robin," The winged boy glanced at his friend before facing the stranger. He held his hand out because he assumed that was what he was supposed to do—don't forget Finney had only spoken to three people before, not counting his family, all he knew was the limited stuff Vance used to tell him.
Robin simply looked at the hand with a shit eating grin, not rushing to accept the gesture sending a wave of red across Finney's face. Awkwardly he lowered his hand back down to his side, mentally agreeing to never do that again.
Vance placed a hand on his shoulder and pulled him along. "Don't worry, he's always like that, he's a sweetheart" Finney decided to believe the reassurance as the two boys walked over to the blonde boy who was still sitting on the floor playing with cards though now he was alone. "Hello," The stranger beamed as they neared, his blue eyes squinted as the sun hit his pupils. "Hi," Finney smiled back.
"My names Griffin, it's lovely to meet you," The winged boy gleefully introduced himself as well. "I'm Finney," He smiled softly before being pulled along once again. "Griff's a sweet kid, he reminds me a lot of you when you were younger," Vance said, giving Finney some more insight before they swiftly neared the next person.
The girl who they had began to walk up to paused what she was doing to greet the teenagers. "Hey Donna, this is Finney," The girl Vance had introduced as Donna flashed a quick smile. "It's so nice to finally meet you, Captain talks about you all the time," Finney flashed his friend a soft smile upon hearing the news.
"Oh, what does he say exactly?"
Donna shrugged. "Nothing much, just everything about you—i'm pretty sure I know your whole life story by now," The two laughed only to be interupted by Vance who didn't hide his embarrasment well. "Thank you for that Donna," He said sarcastically, his face was stern but they could both tell it was a front. "No problem," She grinned before turning back to the training dummy.
"She seems nice," Finn spoke up as they began walking away. "When I said my crew bites I was talking about her, be careful," Vance joked recieving a kind smile from Finney who remebered the last crewmate. "What about Billy?" He asked. "Oh, he isn't much of a talker but he'll come around eventually," The winged boy gave him an understanding nod.
"Now that that's done, you must be hungry–" Vance assumed and he was right. "–I'll get you some food. Hopefully fruit is fine—we have quite a lot of it besides, we don't want you getting scurvy or anything," Vance's reference went completely over the winged boy's head. "What's scurvy?" Finney furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Don't worry about it," Vance chortled.
