Chapter Thirty-Eight

Two hours later Isabella woke screaming and crying. Zachary was lying beside her and heard her so he woke up. He asked her why she was crying, Isabella told him. “I hurt all over, I’ve been hiding it from everyone, but I just can’t take it anymore, I don’t feel good. I’ve been running a temperature for a while know. I thought I was fine, but I guess I’m not Zachary, I’m scared.  For the past six weeks all I’ve done, is puke every time I eat, I just don’t show it. I have lost ten pounds.  Every time I move, my body hurts, it’s hard to explain. But now I feel ten times worse than I have for the past six weeks, Zachary, something’s not right with me.”

Zachary looked at his wife, and he told her “I think it is time for you to come clean with me on what the doctor you saw yesterday said, otherwise I will be calling her, Fuck doctor patient confidentiality I am you husband. I just got you back I am not losing you.”

As soon as Zachary said this Isabella started complaining that she was getting really cold, then all of a sudden she forgot where she was and what was going on. As soon as Zachary saw that his wife was getting worse, he called 911. He told them that his wife was sick and that they weren’t from around here.  They person on the other end told him that someone was on their way. Five minutes later an ambulance was there. The paramedics asked Zachary some questions:

Paramedic: Sir, what is your wife’s name and how old is she?

Zachary: Her name is Isabella Marino, and she is sixteen.

Paramedic: Sir, what is going on with her?

Zachary: Well, I haven’t seen here is six weeks, and today is the first day I have seen her. She said that she spoke with a doctor yesterday, but would not tell me what the doctor said. Then, today she came in her, we have been estranged for six weeks, and we were talking, then she was telling me she was tired so we decided to take a nap. She woke up crying, telling me that she was sick, and that her body hurt. Then she told me that she had been running a fever for a while now, and then out of the blue she forgot where she was and what was going on. Then she passed out, and I called you guys.

Paramedic: You said you have been estranged for six weeks, how long have you been married?

Zachary: Well, I don’t see who that is your business but nine weeks. Can you please help my wife? She doesn’t take any medications that I know of and she has been with her brother and his boyfriend for that past two days.

Paramedic: OK sir, I think we have enough here, we will be taking her to General Medic Center. There they will be able to help you wife. One more thing, I need an address for her and a telephone number.

Zachary: Sure thing, I will meet her over there, I need to call her brother which I will do on the way. Our address is 125 Strip Road, Las Vegas Nevada, 89044. The telephone number is 555-399-7418 is that all so you can get my wife to the hospital?

Paramedic: Yes that is all; if there are any more questions we will contact you.

Finally, the paramedics left with Isabella. Zachary called Isaac “Dude, did you know you sister was really sick. I am heading to the hospital right now. I had to call the paramedics on her. You need to meet me down stairs right now. They were taking her to General Medic Center.” “We will be right down, what the hell happened?” “I don’t know we were taking a nap, and then all of a sudden she woke up crying in pain, and then told me she was running a fever and something was wrong. I don’t know what happened. Just meet me at the car.” “OK.”

Ten minutes later, the three guys were at the hospital. Zachary was the first one to go back. When he got to Isabella’s room they had her hooked up to several different machines. They told her that her blood pressure had dropped to 80/30. She was running a fever of 105.6, and she had started vomiting again. Zachary was in shock at the way his wife looked, she was really pale, with her clothes off, and just a gown on her he could tell she had lost a lot of weight. After seeing his wife, the nurses told him that he needed to go out to the waiting room, and when they were done getting her stable, that they would come find him.  He told him that he didn’t want to leave her; they told him he had no choice, so he did.

When he was in the waiting room, Zachary told Isaac and Caden, everything that the nurses told him. Then after a few minutes a nurse walked over and told him that he had to fill out some form for the hospital, he told her he would, so she gave them to him and left him alone. Zachary filled out everything that he knew, and Isaac helped him fill out the rest. It took those about thirty minutes to fill everything out. When it was done, Zach took it to the intake nurse.  She asked how they were paying for today, so Zachary gave her his black credit card. After that she told him that the nurse or doctor would be out shortly to tell him how is wife was.

All the nurses that came out gave Zachary wired stares, but he didn’t pay any attention to them. While they were waiting Zach told Isaac and Caden that he planned on leaving the business, other than the ones that were legal. He decided that it was time to get the family clean, but he would still help out when ever needed, just someone else would be running the day to day illegal stuff. After that Zachary apologized to both of them for the way that he treated Isabella. He told them that he planned on treating her the right way now and that no matter what he never planned on leaving her side. He knows he did wrong, and he should have never left her alone for the six weeks that he did.

Isaac looked at his brother in law and that is when he noticed that Zachary was really scared. That is also when Isaac noticed that Zachary actually did love his sister with his whole heart. After waiting for an hour, Isaac went to ask about his sister, the nurse told him that they doctor was working on her and that when they found anything out they would contact them.
