Verifying with Viperans

- Tsenre's POV -

We drove north towards the center of Metro Nomadia. As we drew closer and closer to Noman square, a familiar building stood towering over the square providing much appreciated shade to the passers by at the square.

I drove towards the ramp that goes to the basement parking. Just before the ramp is a guard house and a boom gate. Stopping in front of the boom gate, a Lupusian with a shotgun walked up to the car. I open the window to greet him.

"Good morning, do you need anything from me?"

"Good morning Sir, routine inspection if you don't mi--" He then cut himself off and sniffed. "Is that nitrates I smell?"

Vagabond tensed up. I could tell he was hiding something.

"Name's Tsenre. Tsenre Fox." I say as I hand him my Serpentine identification card

The Lupusian looked at me and scrutinized the card.

"Ah! Welcome back sir! Sorry to hold you back for so long!" The lupusian says as he returns the card to me.

"It's fine, it happens to the best of us. Also you probably just smelled the gun I have in the back." I say before closing the window.

The boom gate was raised and I parked the car in the basement of the tower.

Shutting off the engine, I look over at Vagabond "Did you make me bring a bomb here?"

"What?! Of course not!"
"What did he smell then?"

Vagabond looked around silently looking for an explanation that wasn't whatever the truth was.

"Spit it out."
"It's nitric acid. I'm going to use it for a project that I never got to do before coming here."
"Sure?"

Vagabond nodded in embarrassment.

"Alright."

Vagabond and I walk towards the elevator of the building. As we reach the ground floor, I point Vagabond towards the pharmacy.

"Once you're done, wait for me at this bench, alright?" Vagabond nods and walks towards the Pharmacy. In the meantime, I walk towards the receptionist.

"Good morning, I have an appointment with the chief courier." I say as I hand the receptionist my identification card.

"Very well Tsenre. I'll unlock the door for you. Go right ahead."

As the door unlocks, I thank the receptionist and walk towards the elevator that leads to the Viperan Underground Network.

"Good Morning, Gamma" One of the lupusian guard squads roaming the network says as they pass by in front of me.

"Good morning. Keep up the good work."

I then walk towards the Courier department. Once I arrived, I saw Vera and a couple of other couriers lounging in various couches in the room.

"Dandelion, you mind?"

"Ah! Gamma! Good morning!" Vera says as she gets up from the couch. "Need something?"

I motion towards her cubicle and mention that we need a little privacy. The other couriers look at her with smirks.

"Sure, sure." Vera says after scowling at the rest of the couriers

As we enter her cubicle, I lock the door behind us.

"I'm Sorry that you have to deal with them Vera. Do you have any news about Vileper?"

"Well, with the assistance of the clone of Ernst that you lent us, we've got her running around various parts of the outskirts, that should keep her from getting close to either Sophie or Bleach."

"Wonderful, but what about the network and her equipment? From what Viper gathered, Vileper got her equipment from the Viperan Stockpile."

"We told her that we ran out of thermal charges to supply her. The only thing we've given her since she arrived was the initial info, a single kitchen knife, and all of the 'reliable' data recently. She shouldn't have anything inherently potent on her."

"Good, good."

I pull out my phone and show Vera a layout of the fox forest.

"Ernst plans to let Vagabond and Vileper have a final showdown around here." I say pointing to a portion of my phone.

"Alright, but how will you convince Vileper to go there?"

"That's where you come in. You're going to tell Vileper that Vagabond is near Fox forest. We will intentionally leave a gap in the fence where Vagabond will serve as bait. When Vileper is nearby, you inform us and Vagabond will dash into the forest. He'll go to the clearing and have the showdown. Emist and Vimaat will serve as extra eyes and ears to the showdown and will kill Vileper if Vagabond is killed in action."

"Sounds like a plan. Let us know when to feed her the info." Vera says with excitement

"Will do. Say, is Viper here?"
"Yeah, she's playing a game in her habitation module."
"Alright, say hi to her for me."
"You can say hi to her yourself. Just go visit her. She misses you already."
"Fair, I'll go visit her."

I then walk out of the cubicle, the couriers around the room visibly uninterested in me. Closing the door to the courier department, I turn to see Viper running at me

"Gamma!" She shouts as she tackles me with a hug.

I manage to maintain my balance and hug her back.

"Please tell me this'll be over soon, I wanna go out with you again."

"This won't take much longer Sunny. We'll be back to our old lives in a few days."

"Good, it's getting boring to play without you."

"Don't worry, I'll come visit more often. Promise."

Viper looked at me then let go.

"Alright, I'll hold you to that promise." she says before walking back towards the habitation zone.

With peace of mind set, I walk towards the Elevator.

Vagabond was sitting at the bench I told him to wait for me at.

"Lunch time soon?"
"Yeah, and I know a fantastic place to have lunch. Trust me."
"You're the boss, Tsenre."

Vagabond put the bottle of Glycerol, opened and partly consumed, beside the backpack that Randal gave him before hopping into the car.
