The Misaki Stairs

Tsukasa brought another creepy story to his friends. "№2 of the seveal mysteries — The Misaki stairs. You should never step on 4th step of stairs of that staircase, or you would be brought to the spirit realm, and your body will be torn apart and shredded to thousands of pieces."

"Please tell me those are not true," skulked Sousuke. "People just make them up to scare others."

"They are true!" insisted Tsukasa. "I told Amane about Hanako-san, and she showed up exactly as the rumor said!"

"Anyway, I have a literature club meeting, see ya!" Tsukasa ran out of the class.

Amane was worried when Tsukasa did not show up for launch. He did not show up for the classic literature lesson later, which he loved and would never skip. To his surprise, teacher and other students seemed to completely forget that Tsukasa ever existed.

All but Sousuke.

Amane and Sousuke arrived to boys' toilet in the old building. Hanako-san concluded that missing student must be related to the rumor of Misaki stairs. It was Hanako-san's duty to maintain proper relationship between people and supernaturals, so she decided to help her assistant and his friend.

"Do I really need to go?" asked Sousuke. "I don't want my beautiful body to be torn apart into thousand pieces!"

"Don't worry..." replied Hanako-san. "That part of rumor is false... I think."

"You THINK?!"

"So you'd rather have just us be torn apart?" teased Amane. "Think of the pictures of spirit realm you could make in there."

"It's best if we just don't go to the spirit realm altogether," suggested Sousuke.

"I don't care. I'm going to save Tsukasa," declared Amane. Sousuke had to follow.

They stepped onto the fourth step of the stairs and were transported to the boundary. It looked like an abandoned town with tons of lamps everywhere. It was pretty beautiful. Sousuke took several pictures.

Mysterious female voice told them over the phone that Misaki's body was torn apart and they had to reassemble it by gathering parts of the body.

"We better do what that lady says!" insisted Sousuke.

Amane said that looking for stuff is actually fun. He found a magazine with photos of almost undressed girls with big tits. Sousuke and Amane spent quite some time browsing through the pages until Hanako returned to them.

"What are you doing?!" she yelled at them. "We should be looking for an arm!"

Ugh. Stupid boys.

Before time ran out, Amane found a robot arm, Hanako-san returned with a mannequin's arm and Sousuke came back with a pirate hook for an arm.

"We are looking for a woman's arm!" Hanako-san scolded her companions. "Try to pay attention!"

There was something off about Amane. He looked more self confident, and his head was slightly above Sousuke's, while previously he was rather short.

"You think so? I'm pretty sure this is how I always am," replied Amane holding laugh.

He could not make a couple of steps before falling off shoes with high sole he found.

"Oh, that was just... um well, you know..." Amane could not look straight.

"Bwahahahaa!" laughed Sousuke. "Short legs-kun with a black hole between them!" Black hole-kun was a nickname he assigned to Amane after their first encounter.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please don't kill me!" pleaded Sousuke after being beat up by shorter Amane.

They were interrupted by dark voice. "Time is up!"
