Chapter 1: Now Hiring

Y/N's POV

[Cough]
"Ugh..." I grunted as I push some rumble off of me, "Geez... How did I even survive that?" My recent invention exploded on me thus my lab is in a mess and I'm in a lot of pain.
[Cough]
"How long was I out for?" I thought to myself--- "Wait." "Igor?(Not OUR Igor)" I said looking for a hunched back in the rumble. As I push myself off the ground I felt a sharp pain in my chest, "Agh! Dammit..."
[Scans room looking for Igor]
As I look around for my assistant I saw a familiar piece of clothing under a bunch of rubble, "Oh god--- IGOR!?" I shouted as I ran up to his body and dig him out from under the rubble of concrete, metal, and dirt.

[After shoving the rumble off of said Igor's body]
After I was done digging I realized he wasn't responding, "Hey, Igor, wake up. You there, buddy?" I attempted to communicate with him. After that failed I decided to check his pulse.

[Sigh]
I look over my old friend's dead body in guilt, knowing if I had just pulled the lever without asking him for help, he wouldn't have been dead. I decided not to recycle his body and bury his body instead.

[An hour later in some creepy forest]

"Welp, that should do it," I said to myself whilst wiping sweat off my forehead and finishing digging a grave. I picked up a small coffin-shaped box with the dead Igor in it and tried to gently place it into the grave...

[Bonk]

"Well... I tried," you shrugged it off. "I should probably finish this up quickly, can't be caught digging a grave for an Igor that would be embarrassing." You cringed.

[After a while in the middle of town]

"Okay... And that's... The last one." You figured as you put up your last 'Now Hiring Igor' poster. "I hope a new guy pops up soon, I seriously need an extra hand now that my invention turned itself into ashes, especially when the science fair is one week away." You bit your nail in frustration as you walk back to your mansion.
