Dark and Twisted - A TR fanfic (COMPLETE)

Chapter 2 - Just a Kid

Sabre was taken aback --- this kid, who was corrupted by darkness and twisted, had just... hugged him? Was this even possible? Confusion filled his mind. Thats when he heard a voice he recognized...

"Twisted Dark, where are yo- S-Sabre...?"

"Twisted." Sabre replied angrily. "What do you want."

"I-I was just looking for- that child."

"This child? This child, right here?" Sabre said. The sound of Twisted Rainbows voice made the small Steve tighten his grip --- Twisted had clearly done something to this poor kid.

"Yes, now give me hi-" Twisted stopped mid-sentence. Sabre was holding his hand out towards Twisted --- he was choking the rainbow-colored fool.

"Not. Another. Step." Sabre spat. "Now, off with you."

Sabre flicked his wrist, sending Twisted through the air. He wouldn't be back any time soon.

Sabre picked up the child and resumed his walking.

Sabre carried the small child in his arms as he walked.

'He's just a kid...' Sabre thought. 'How could Twisted be so cruel?! I knew he was evil but... this? This is too far... for anyone.'

Sabre continued to think about what was happening as he walked. The small Steve in his arms was clearly asleep; the crying had stopped and the embrace was looser.

A pig oinked nearby. Sabre began to draw his sword as he approached the small pink animal, but something within him told him to leave it be, and he decided to listen. Plus, the squeals of a dying pig may wake and possibly even scare the child in his arms. He went back to walking.

Sabres legs were getting tired, but he had to be somewhere. He didn't know why --- he just had this feeling. He thought about teleporting, but he knew that would scare the child in his arms. He put a hand on the kids head.

"Hey," he said softly, kindly. "Wake up."

The young Steve stirred, and his eyes fluttered open.

"... hmm...?"

"I gotta teleport. I just wanted to let you know so I didn't scare you."

"... okay..."

Sabre nodded softly. Lightning struck around the two as they teleported.
