Elite Dark Guard stepped out of the elevator.
"... Sabre...?" He said. " ... What are you doing here by the core...?"
"So that's what it's called!" Sabre replied, turning to face him. "I'm going to take it."
"What?! That's too dangerous! Even I wouldn't attempt that!"
"Me and you are not the same."
Sabre put down the small Green Steve in his arms. That's when Elite noticed the child, and he immediately recognized him.
"Twisted Dark Green, what are you doing here with him?!" Elite yelled. "He's dangerous!"
Green just hid behind Sabres leg. It was clear to Sabre that this precious being knew the fool in front of him --- and that the one good thing in this world was scared.
"I'm dangerous?" Sabre said. "I'm dangerous? He trusts me. I'm not going to break that trust. Unlike you..."
"I trusted you!"
"No, I trusted you. And you broke that trust in the blink of an eye." Sabre drew his sword. "Stay back, kiddo. I don't want you getting hurt."
"Give me the kid, Sabre."
"Don't. Touch. The. Child!"

Green watched as Elite was choked by Sabre. Green watched as Elites armor grew red streaks. Green watched as power began emanating from Sabre and Elite. Green watched as Elite and Sabre fought.
Green could tell that the core was dangerous. But he knew that Sabre could protect him.
'Please don't get hurt...' Green thought, now crying. 'I need you!'
