Chapter 4 - Scare Games kickoff

"Welcome to this years Greek Scare Games kickoff" Claire said through the microphone to the crowd "THE SCARE GAAAAAAAMES! YEEEEEEAAAAHAHAAAA!!" Brock yelled excitedly through the microphone after her "ok relax, we have a special guest, the founder of the games, Dean Hardscrabble" Claire announced as Dean Hardscrabble went on stage "good afternoon, I created these games as a friendly competition, but be prepared, to take home the trophy you must be the most fearsome monsters on campus" she raised the stakes for every team that entered the games "alright everybody we're closing down sign ups so we'll see you all-" Brock was interrupted by Mike "Wait!" he shouted making everyone turn to him "I'm signing up!" he confirmed but everyone laughed at him "uh.. you have to be in a fraternity to compete" Claire informed "behold the next winning fraternity of the scare games, the brothers, my brothers of Oozma Kappa" Mike pointed towards the fraternity team "Hi" Scott Squibbles said but everyone laughed at Mike and his team "Mr. Wazowski, what are you doing?" Dean Hardscrabble asked "you just said the winners are the most fearsome monsters on campus, if I win it means you kicked out the best scarer in the whole school" Mike confessed "that won't happen" she implied "how about a little wager? If I win, you let me back into the scare programme" he asked "and what will that prove?" she asked "that you were wrong" he blurted out which made her look around "very well.. if you win, I will let your entire team into the scare programme.. but if you lose, you will LEAVE Monsters University." she'd threaten "deal.." Mike hesitated but accepted "now all you need to do is to find enough members to compete." she confirmed "we need 6 guys, right?" he asked "sorry chief, we count bodies, not heads. That dude counts as one" Brock pointed at Terry and Terri who was a double headed monster "Anyone wanna join our team? Anyone at all?" Mike asked every monster but Tanya slightly hid behind Johnny so Mike wouldn't see her but Mike ended up seeing Randall "Randy! Randy thank goodness I need you on my team!" he said "oh.. sorry! I'm already on a team!" Randall said "Boggs!" Johnny called him over "I'm finally in with the cool kids, Mike! Don't blow this for me!" Randall grumbled which made Mike disappointed until Sulley offered to join so Mike had no choice but to accept. "Good luck" Dean Hardscrabble said.

It was turning night time and everyone was heading to their dorms to rest for the day after and the first event of the scare games, Tanya met up with Mike and Sulley and their team and greeted them "you could come over for a few minutes, if it's alright with Oozma Kappa?" Mike offered "sure, new friends are always welcome" the old was said "alright fine" she accepted and Mike, Sully and Tanya met up at the house later that evening "this is a fraternity house?" Sulley asked as Mike looked at him smugly "hello there teammateys, come on aboard!" the older one greeted them "as the president of Oozma Kappa, it is my honour to introduce you to your new home" he introduced "we call this room: party central" the smaller one said "technically we haven't had a party here yet" one of the heads on the two headed monster said "but when we do, we'll be READY!" the other head said as he pressed a button on the remote to open a trap door to a disco ball that unfortunately fell and smashed on the floor. After, the older one came in with hot chocolates "ho ho, the hot coco train coming through, the next stop, you" he offered a drink to Tanya "thanks" she giggled as she took it drank it "so you guys are scaring majors?" Sulley said before Mike had the chance to speak "we were but none of us lasted very long. I guess we weren't what Hardscrabble was looking for. Don Carlton, mature student. Thirty years in the textile industry and then old Dandy Don got downsides, figured I could throw myself a pity party or go back to school and learn the computers." he said "hello, I'm Terry with a Y" Terry said "and I'm Terri with an I, I'm a dance major" said Terri excitedly as he started dancing but Terry refused to join "why didn't you turn?" he asked "because we never agreed to do this!" he grumbled and Tanya, Mike and Sulley watched and cringed over their little argument before walking over "hey! I'm Art, new age philosophy major, excited to live with you and laugh with you... and cry with you... thought you'd like to keep a dream journal" Art gave the three of them journals. "Guess that leaves me." Scott appeared behind Sulley making him jump "my name's Scott Squibbles, my friends call me Squishy, I'm undeclared, unattached and unwelcome pretty much everywhere but here" he said "now that we've all been introduced, as captain of our team-" Mike started "so basically you guys have no scaring experience?" Tanya asked interrupting Mike unintentionally by putting her hand on his shoulder "not a lot, but now we've got you!" Squishy said "you and Sully are about the scariest fellas I've ever seen even with Sulley's pink polka dots" Don said "aw thanks" Tanya said smiling "well actually I think I bring the whole package" Mike tried to speak "your hand is as big as my face!" Squishy said "They're like mountains with fur" Terri said "oh come on, I don't even work out" Sulley said "I do sometimes" Tanya confirmed "yeah me neither, I don't wanna get too big" Art sniffed "we thought our dreams were over but Mike said if we win, they'll let us into the scare programme" Don repeated from earlier "we're gonna be real scarers!" Terri said "the best!" "you betcha!" most of them cheered as Sulley looked at Mike.

Tanya put her cup down and pulled down her fraternity jumper a bit "I gotta get going, if I stay out too late Johnny will be looking for me" she said "since when does he have a soft spot?" Sulley said "we tend to keep things private normally, but I am the youngest out of the both of us" she said "ok, see you soon?" Mike asked "I'll see what I can do" she confirmed before walking out the door back to campus.
