Chapter 8 - Tension

The next few events had past and a new hiding event had just finished with Roar Omega Roar in first place and Oozma Kappa finishing in second place. "We're down to two remaining teams: Roar Omega Roar and Oozma Kappa!" Claire said through the microphone "which leads us to the final event! Each one of your skills will be put to the test, the scare simulators will prove who's the best. Tomorrow night you will finally get to SCARE in front of the whole school!" Brock continued energetically "good luck while it lasts boys. After you lose, no one will remember you." Johnny threatened to Oozma Kappa "maybe. But once you lose, no one will let you forget it" Mike responded making Johnny stare at him "oh.. boy, that is a good point" Chet said making Johnny hit the hat off him and made them walk away. Tanya spotted Sully speaking to Dean Hardscrabble but as soon as she walked closer to them, Dean Hardscrabble walked away "hey Sulley" she said as he turned around "oh hey Tanya, where've you been? It's like we've not seen you in weeks" he said back "Johnny's banned me from going out to a load of 'unknown places' he doesn't know about until after the scare games... sibling love I guess" she said slightly smiling "oh.." he responded "anyways, tell Mike I'll see him soon, I don't wanna disturb whilst he's busy.. especially when studying" she winked "alright.. bye" he said as she ran off to her team.

The next night, monsters gathered for the final event of the scare games, they sang their anthem as more gathered and took their seats "welcome to the last event of the scare games" Claire announced "it's time to see how terrifying you really are.. in the scare simulators!" Brock then announced "but be warned: Each simulated scare has been set to the highest difficulty level... first scarers to the starting line" Claire continued as Don went up against Reggie "Hey Reggie! You take it easy on grandpa!" Johnny yelled towards him "unleash the beast Don!" Art shouted as the sound went off. Reggie scored a little result whilst Don scored a bit higher than him making Johnny grumbled. Different monsters went and it was Sully and Randall's turn against each other, Sulley's roar was that loud it shook both simulators making Randy fall on a pink hearted rug changing his scales to the same colour and design as the rug and roared at the robot child making it tied which non of Roar Omega Roar was happy about "hearts?!" Johnny questioned angrily "way to go Boggs!" Chet yelled as Randall looks towards Oozma Kappa "that's the last time I lose to you.. Sullivan!" he threatened turning back to his normal scale colour "Worthington and Wazowski to the starting line" Brock called and Tanya couldn't help but look up towards Hardscrabble then looked back at Mike who was doing the same "hey don't worry about Hardscrabble.. just go out there and show them what Mike Wazowski can do" Sulley assured so Mike went up to the starting line "don't take the loss too hard... you never belonged her anyway" Johnny attempted to get in his head but Mike ignored him. The sound went off and the two ran towards the simulator and entered after reading the folders but Johnny headed straight to the robot and roared getting his team to a very high level "Amazing performance by Worthington!" Brock shouted "Johnny you're my hero!" Tanya shouted as he came out with his arms raised in victory whilst his supporters cheered "the Oozma's will need a record breaking scare to win this!" Claire said as Mike gave a reflection from his past thought and then let out a scream that surprisingly let out a scream filling the entire canaster board making it release celebration strips (I can't really remember what they're called) and everyone cheered for Mike even Roar Omega Roars' supporters as they all ran down the pitch including Tanya. They picked Mike up and Sulley put Mike's hat on his head when Tanya joined them "we're in the scaring programme! YEAH!" Sulley yelled in victory.

When everyone left, Oozma Kappa was getting ready to leave the arena but Tanya stayed with them until they heard arguing from Mike and Sulley "what was I suppose to do? Let the whole team fail because you don't have it?!" Sulley yelled at Mike making him and the team shocked that Sulley cheated just to get into the scaring programme. Mike stormed off leaving Sulley turning to the rest of the team who were disappointed in him. Tanya signalled them to leave with her back to the fraternity but glanced back at Squishy "Squishy!" she called as he put down the trophy in front of him "Tanya.." Sulley called "well look at you with the trophy my team made famous" she intimidated Sulley watching him with the trophy in his hand "I want to say I'm sorry" he said "Sorry? You're sorry?! You got some nerve coming up here talking about some sorry when you were caught cheating and let me tell you something Sullivan: you won't be half the monster that I am if you carry on!" which stunned him but she realised "listen Sulley, I knew you were scared but you need to understand your actions have consequences.. I'll probably see you later" she sighed walking off before the lights went out leaving Sulley in the dark.
