We drive for what feels like forever, and arrive in a town not to far away from LA. I have absolutely no idea where we are and why we're there, since I thought my grandma and aunts lived in the city.
"Well, looks like we're here." My grandma says from the drivers seat as she parks the car.
We all get out of the hot minivan, and arrive on the most beautiful beach. I immediately smile and take of my flip flops and run to the sand. The sand feels amazing against my feet, I couldn't even imagine how great the water must feel.
"Samantha! Come on dear, don't want to be left behind now." My Aunt Jen says.
I want to object, but see them heading towards the long pier. I run to catch up with the rest of my family and Kate.
We reach the pier and start walking down it. Walking over the water is breath taking, it's so blue and so pretty. I'm in love with beaches and the ocean. I watch some of the surfers ride waves as I walk backwards, trying to keep up with everyone but not wanting to take my eyes off the surfers. I'm just about to turn around when I feel something, or someone, in my way.
"Oh my gosh, I am so so sorry." I say so fast, I don't even think the guy understood what I said.
"Oh don't worry about it, its fine." He laughs. I look up at him, and instantly regret it. He has brown curly hair, and the most beutiful eyes ever. And of course a gorgeous smile. I feel my cheeks heat up and I look back down at my feet, hoping he doesn't notice me blushing.
"Samantha Nicole! Hurry up!" My dad shouts. I have no idea where he is, they must be really far ahead.
"I, uh, gotta go. Um, sorry about hitting you, I wasn't watching where I was going. Sorry." I say quickly again, and jog to catch up with my family.
"Where even are we? I thought grandma lived in LA?" Brent asked my mom.
"We're in Huntington Beach. No, she doesn't. Aunt Jen and Julie do, but we're staying with grandma here. I thought you guys would like it more because there's a beach."
I catch the last bit of the conversation as I finally caught up with them.
"Who was that boy you were talking too?" Kate asks, wiggling her eyesbrows.
"Oh, uh, I don't know. I accidentally bumped into him when I was watching the surfers. I was just apologizing."
"He was cute! You didn't ask for his name or anything?"
"No! I was way to embarrassed! I felt like an idiot for hitting him, I didn't want to make the situation worse."
"Oh c'mon. I'm sure he would've loved to talk to you longer."
"Yeah I doubt it." I roll my eyes at her.
We continue walking down the pier until we reach a diner at the end. Its a really old fashioned diner, but it smelt amazing. I didn't realize I was so hungry until now. We sit on our booth and quickly order, and wait for our food to arrive.
