The Black Cloak Envoy went to the hospital the next day via portal and visited Yunlan in his room. Guo and Chu were there too. He approached and saw Yunlan sitting up propped on pillows with an IV in the back of his hand. The Envoy got a glass of water and put it on the bedside table.
"You must drink, Chief Zhao. How are you? Are you in any pain?"
"I think you took care of me at the warehouse, so that I wouldn't be in pain. Thank you for saving me, Your Honor." He smiled and looked up at the Envoy.
"I know that I healed your injuries, but they will still hurt afterward, so be careful and rest. It was my duty to save you, Lord Guardian, so no thanks is necessary." He handed Yunlan the water glass when he reached for it.
"You really are too good to me. Thanks." He drained the glass and Shen reached out to take it, his hand brushing against Yunlan's fingers. Yunlan didn't know why the Envoy changed his attitude toward SID and himself, but it pleased him.

Chu pulled up the thin hospital blanket over Yunlan. He turned to the Black Cloak Envoy and said, "Thank you for saving our Chief. I know he is tough, but those thugs were trying to kill him. I'm not sure they even wanted money." He never looked the Envoy in the eyes, which Yunlan saw as a sign of respect from the undergrounder.
Lord Black Cloak Envoy went to the room's closet and took out two more thin blankets. He spread them over Yunlan who looked surprised. "I'm not sure I need this many," he said, biting his thumbnail.
"Shhh," the Envoy said. "Don't talk." By the Pillars of Nature! He looks so cute, Shen Wei thought.
The Envoy put his hand behind Yunlan's head and neck and lifted him. He pulled the extra pillows out and put them above him on the bed. He lowered the bed back to nearly flat.
"Extra warmth will help you sleep and heal. Go to sleep for a while." The Envoy patted him on the arm which was under 3 blankets now. "I know a lot about healing, so listen to me."
Yunlan blinked and closed his eyes. He nodded and yawned. He did feel sore all over and sleep seemed like a good idea.
His visitors left and turned out the lights.
