PART 42 - GHOST SLAYER

Dedicated to the writer who gave me ideas and inspired Tori, Wei's senior guard.

Wei, Yunlan, Tori, Ting and Da Qing took a week to prepare for the extraction and destruction of the ghost inside Yezun.

Wei remembers the time that he and Kunlun found Yezun enslaved by the evil slave driver. They killed him and released Yezun and the other slaves. They took Yezun to Kunlun's cave and tried to overcome his fear and extreme confusion. Kunlun gave his energy every day to strengthen Yezun. He went into his mind and tried to pry the fearsome experiences away from him. Yezun was sick and weak.

Shen Wei gave him teas and broth to strengthen his health. He held Yezun and comforted him, telling him he was safe over and over.

Kunlun trusted Shen to take care of Yezun while he was gone. He taught him some methods of entering Yezun's mind and helping him back to reality, but cautioned him.

"Don't do too much. When you feel tired, back out."

Wei remembered. He cared for Yezun in Kunlun's absence and gently guided him back, reminding him of mother and father, of their childhood before they had to run for their lives. He told him myths that had happy endings, reveling in Yezun's little smiles.

These are the memories he shared with Zheng Feng who was able to put visions of the past in people's mind.

Shen Wei went over their plan.

"Give the memories of his death into the ghost's mind. Give the visions of my past with my brother to Yezun. His mind is hiding, but I will go in and you follow me to give him the memories.

[AN: Yezun was recaptured and possessed before Wei and Kunlun healed his mind.]

"Chu, use the puppet strings to hold Yezun's body while I go inside. Zhu Ting, after we beat Yezun's body, the ghost will want to leave. You will make Yezun sleep so I can push the ghost out. Chu, you have to make the strings tight on his body - it will be mist so you must squeeze him like a waffle when he comes out."

"Tori and Yunlan will guard us. Everyone will wear body armour."

"When there is an attack from Yezun's army we will be ready to extract the ghost so I can slay it. I am the bait and will stand apart from our forces in back of them. I will make an illusion of trees for you all to hide behind me before he attacks.

"We will station more troops behind the illusion to come and protect us from Yezun's soldiers.

"Yunlan, take care of assigning our side to protect us at the back of the army while engaging them with the Marines and army soldiers in front of their attack. Be ready with a flanking pincer movement to attack the main force as soon as we know where they are going."

On the battlefield:

The battle went as planned, Wei stood apart in front of trees at the back of the forces. Yezun went to him immediately weilding a sword. Yezun's body was grabbed from behind by Tori and held by Chu's strings.

Tori and Yunlan watched everyone's backs while Wei, Zhu Ting and Zhen Feng beat Yezun, hitting him in the face, the stomach, stomping on his legs and kicking him in the ribs.

The ghost received visions of his death, ending with him lying dead on the ground at Kunlun's hands.

The ghost's face appeared on Yezun's as the beating went on. It was not Yezun's face. It was red mist that came out more and more as they beat Yezun.
