"Appa, can you sing for me?" Yeonjun asks, his chubby cheek pressed against Jungkook's chest, his eyes fluttering every now and then as he tries to fight off sleep because he absolutely needs to hear his father's voice to be able to fall asleep.

"Didn't you say that you're a grown-up now? Should Appa still sing for you when you're already big?" Jungkook teases, enjoying the way Yeonjun pouts before pursing his lips as if deep in thought.

"I'm still a little boy. I need Appa to sing for me," Yeonjun insists, showing Jungkook those puppy eyes (which Jungkook could probably blame Seokjin for because he's always the one teaching Yeonjun how to manipulate his father into doing literally everything he wants to do).

And Jungkook gives in, pressing a kiss on Yeonjun's forehead before he starts singing and gently brushing Yeonjun's hair with his fingers.

He sings softly, audible enough to soothe Yeonjun so he'll fall asleep, but not loud enough to disturb the little boy. He hums to Winter Bear, Taehyung's song. It always helps Yeonjun fall asleep.

Yeonjun started to have trouble sleeping when he turned three. Jungkook was very concerned about it, trying different ways to help his son fall asleep because he, himself, needs sleep too so he can be productive at work since he has to make money for him and Yeonjun.

He struggled for quite a while but soon found a solution once he accidentally played Winter Bear while looking for music to help Yeonjun fall asleep. He didn't mean to do it. He just listened to the song when it was released because he still tries to stay update with whatever Taehyung is doing from time to time. He didn't have any intention to let Yeonjun know anything about Taehyung.

But it happened by accident.

The song played, and Jungkook tried to end it, intending to switch to another song, but Yeonjun stopped him and told him that he wants to listen to the music because the singer's voice is beautiful.

So Jungkook allowed him to.

And before he knew it, Yeonjun is already asleep, cheek pressed against his chest with a small smile etched on his face.

He listens to Winter Bear every single night from then on. It might be an unhealthy obsession but Jungkook can't really blame his son. Taehyung is absolutely beautiful – everything about him is.

Sometimes, it's too much for Jungkook to hear Taehyung's voice, especially when he's missing him so badly, so he would just hum the song for Yeonjun, and Yeonjun still manages to fall asleep.

Just like now. Thinking of Taehyung is messing with Jungkook's head right now, so he decided to simply hum to the song and hope that it would be enough to help Yeonjun sleep.

"I love your voice, Appa," Yeonjun whispers drowsily before he drifts off to sleep, soft snores escaping his lips. Jungkook smiles and stops singing in favor of pressing another kiss on Yeonjun's forehead and whispering a sweet 'I love you' before pulling away.

Jungkook hums for a bit longer until he's completely sure that Yeonjun is asleep before he adjusts the blanket over both of their bodies and allows his own eyes to rest. He definitely needs this rest since he's been in some deep shit the entire day, and he couldn't allow his mind to rest while Taehyung was around.

But before Jungkook could even allow his sleep to take over, he hears his phone ringing, and out of desperation to shut it up in fear that it might wake Yeonjun up, he answered the call without even looking at the name of the caller.

He only realized who it was when he heard a voice saying, "Hello, Jungkookie." He knows that voice perfectly well. Even now, his heart still tends to skip a beat whenever he hears that voice.
