Jungkook expected Taehyung to act differently towards him the very next day, considering how he's already aware of what Jungkook was trying to hide, but he didn't expect this kind of difference. He thought Taehyung would definitely be colder and more distant because, well, people usually don't like the idea of the person they're trying to pursue having a child of their own.
But Taehyung is doing the exact opposite.
Imagine Jungkook's surprise when he arrived at the studio only to see Taehyung running up to him and greeting him with that boxy smile and a warm embrace. "Jungkookie!" Taehyung yells as he runs towards Jungkook's direction with open arms. "I missed you. Did you sleep well last night?" he asks while still keeping Jungkook in his embrace as if no one was watching them right now (which is completely the opposite since the entire studio is full of staff both from Jungkook and Taehyung's respective managements.
"Uh, yeah, I did. Thank you for asking, Tae," Jungkook answers with a chuckle, not realizing the casual slip of Taehyung's nickname on his tongue.
Taehyung just grins at him brightly as he pulls away, handing him an iced coffee that Jungkook didn't even notice Taehyung was holding before. "Here, drink this before you continue with work. I'll go to the dressing room to get ready. I'll see you in a few, Kookie." And then Taehyung walks away with his stylists following him closely, all shocked and taken aback, completely dazed with what just happened.
"Wow," Jungkook hears a staff mutter. "I didn't know they were that close. Must be why Taehyung-ssi was looking for him the moment he arrived."
Jungkook flushes red after hearing the conversation, cursing himself for not wearing a mask today because it would be really cool to be able to hide his face right now, while he's burning with embarrassment.
The photoshoot continues considerably well. When Taehyung is in front of the camera, oh, he really knows how to work. A single word from the photographer and he would give a more than satisfactory output, making everyone hold their breath every single time as if making the slightest sound would ruin this ethereal moment.
Jungkook feels a hint of pride in his chest. Taehyung has always been amazing. He's not even surprised to see Taehyung doing so well right now. They would finish the photoshoot in no time.
And they did.
There is no trial and error with Taehyung. None of his photos deserve to be deleted. He gives perfection and it definitely presents perfect results.
But Taehyung doesn't seem to be too worried about his photos because as soon as the photo shoot is over, the innocence comes back to his eyes and he's grinning widely while making his way towards Jungkook. "Did I do well?" Taehyung asks, looking at Jungkook expectantly as if Jungkook's opinion matters more than the directors who keep on telling him that he did a great job.
"You did great," Jungkook answers genuinely, offering Taehyung a fond smile. "You always do."
Taehyung didn't reply but Jungkook could see the genuine happiness behind his eyes as if Jungkook's simple words are everything to him. Taehyung pulls Jungkook in for a hug again, not caring that everyone is looking at them with wide, surprised eyes, probably wondering why the hell someone as popular and important as Kim Taehyung is being overly affectionate with someone very... normal.
"Taehyung, they're looking," Jungkook whispers, trying to remind Taehyung just in case he forgot that they're in a public space right now.
"Let them," Taehyung answers. "I haven't seen you in so long. I feel like I can't catch up enough with everything I've lost all those times."
So Jungkook lets him.
He avoids the gazes of the other staff and focuses on Taehyung's warmth. He doesn't really have much to lose (but Taehyung does), so he allows himself to indulge in this sweet act a little bit. He returns the hug to give Taehyung even just a bit of comfort – and well, maybe because he just really wants to hug Taehyung too.
