Taehyung got them a private room in a restaurant so they could talk without anyone overhearing. Jungkook insists on paying for the food because he knows that he has to make it up to Taehyung in some way, but Taehyung told him that he'll pay because it's the first time he's seen Yeonjun and he wants to be a good uncle. Yeonjun beams and thanks Taehyung, and Jungkook could clearly see the fond look on Taehyung's face as he looks at Yeonjun.

They silently watch Yeonjun eat, gobbling up the delicious food as if his life depends on it. At other times, Jungkook would've been able to smile and coo all over Yeonjun because of how adorable he is with his chubby cheeks all filled up with food, but his mind is too much of chaos right now. He's absent-mindedly looking at Yeonjun and thinking of ways on how to start the conversation with Taehyung.

"I'm sorry," he says, finally gaining the courage to look at Taehyung. Yeonjun is still busy eating between them and when he's eating, he doesn't really notice anything that's going on around him. Jungkook is a little thankful for that as of now. It's hard to explain to Taehyung already – it would've been so much harder if he has to explain everything to Yeonjun too. "I'm sorry for hiding this from you. I shouldn't have left you, and I should've – I should've told you about him at least."

"So he's mine too," Taehyung speaks up, sounding a little breathless. He must've been holding his breath while waiting for Jungkook's confirmation. He must be just as nervous as Jungkook. "He's ours?" Jungkook could swear that he sounds almost hopeful.

"Yeah," Jungkook confirms, not finding the need to hide it anymore. It's painfully obvious, even more so now that they're seated next to each other. No one could deny that Yeonjun is Taehyung's son too. "He is."

"How?" Taehyung asks, sounding more confident now. Jungkook looks him in the eye and he doesn't look upset as what Jungkook expected him to be. He's looking at Yeonjun with so much admiration in his eyes, still in trance between happiness and disbelief.

Jungkook has been trying to prepare himself for this conversation ever since his parents told him about how he's different from other boys. But sitting right here, next to Taehyung and his own son, he realizes that nothing could have ever prepared him for this. He's still scared about what Taehyung will think. "My parents-" he starts, taking a deep breath. "They were one of the volunteers for the experiment conducted for, uh, you know, gay people who wanted to have kids. It was quite a news years ago. Quite a lot of people volunteered so I thought a lot of people knew about it." Taehyung nods, eyes focusing on him and patiently waiting for Jungkook to finish. "So yeah, they were volunteers and it succeeded. They managed to have me in the end and I didn't have the same biology as other boys. I wasn't really aware of it but you know, I never miss my regular check-up because they were always afraid that something would go wrong because I'm a product of an experiment. And then the doctor told us about this – about me."

"And you had Yeonjun," Taehyung chokes out, eyes tearing up as it dawns unto him, as it finally sinks in – Yeonjun is theirs. Yeonjun is their son.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook replies, his own eyes tearing up and heart swelling with guilt. "I should've told you. You had every right to know him because he's your son. But- but your mother talked to me and I wasn't in a very good state back then. You've been gone for weeks and- and I was feeling lonely and I wanted to tell you but you're not coming back." A tear fell and Jungkook wipes it away immediately. "And she told me that I would just end up ruining your career. You were chasing after your dreams, Tae. I didn't- I didn't want you to lose everything because of me."

"God, Jungkook, I'm sorry." Taehyung reaches forward to hold his hand, clutching onto it so tightly and desperately. "I shouldn't have let you go. I should've been there for you. I- I didn't know. If I did, I would've chosen you above everything else. She was wrong, Jungkook. This is not my biggest dream. What I wanted the most was to be with you, I just wanted to be happy with you. And I just- I had the chance to succeed in something and I wanted to do my best all because of you but I ended up losing you because of it too."
