Bestie is a beastie

"*Snarl*" Lily bursts out of the coffin, Confused and terrified. Her limbs were all over the place.
"Melody, It's okay!" I hold my hands out. Melody rushes at me.
"Emily, Look out!" Loki yells just a second before Melody knocks me over, Barely registering my existence.
"*Snarl*"
"Melody" I whispered as Loki helped me off the ground. Melody stares at me and her fangs out. I gulp as she takes one step towards me. Sif quickly gets behind Melody, Wrapping her arms around her. She forced Mel to the ground. Loki holds me closer to him. Which resulted in some death glares from Hannah.
"Calm down, Young one" Sif easily pins her to the ground. That's a perk of being 2000 years old "Shhh, Shhhh" Melody thrashes like an animal in a cage. Eyeing everyone in the room. Loki, Hannah, Sif and finally myself. Loki lets me go as I walk over to Melody.
"Does she even recognize me?" I moved close to Melody. Hannah grabs me by the arm, holding me back "Mel?"
"I wouldn't get too close" She whispered. I wonder if she meant closer to Loki or Melody. Either way, I snatch my arm back and go to my best friend. She would never hurt me. She isn't like her uncle.
"I ain't afraid of her. She is my best friend" I glare at Hannah.
"*Snarl*"
"Emily, Be careful" Loki spoke, his voice full of worry. He asks Sif to keep Melody pinned.
"I'll be fine. I think I can get through to her" I look at Loki over my shoulder. He nods. I know Melody. I can ease her into this life. I take a deep breath as face her "Mel? I know this is not easy to talk about but do you remember being attacked last night? When you were in our apartment?"
"*Growl*" Her head tilts. Something in her mind clicks. She seems to remember either me or the apartment. She nods her head slowly.
"Do you know who attacked you?" I ask. Mel shakes her head no. Damn it.
"*Growl*" I sort of can understand her. She sounds like she has just woken up after a two-day drinking session. I think she just asked what happened.
"Well, You lost a lot of blood and Loki gave you his blood... Which turned you into... into a vampire"
"What?" She sounds normal.
"God I wish I didn't have to tell her this. How to put it as nicely as I can that my bestie is a vampire?" I ran a hand over my hair. I have to be blunt as possible "You're a vampire. And these two," I point to Sif and Loki "Are here to help you. If you just calm down" Melody blinks as she looks around. Sif slowly lessens her grip. Melody's eyes widen with horror as she sits up, Knocking Sif off her.
"Oh my god... How... What?" her head in her hands. Sif has a hand on her back.
"Melody, Try to remain calm. Your emotions are heightened"
"NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!" Melody stands up and runs up the stairs. Right through the archives. Loki and Sif sigh as they run after her. Hannah and I follow.
"Wait!" Sif yells, scrambling to her feet "Damn, Newborns"
"Emily, She's still in a delicate state. It might be safe for you" Loki turns around and stops me as I just get to the coffin. Allowing Hannah to run ahead. Both women stop at the door.
"I can still get through to her. She is still my friend. Give me a chance" I reach into the coffin and pick up the goblet that had my blood. Loki looks at Sif.
"She's your pet. I don't care if she gets mauled" Sif crosses her arms. Loki shoots her a glare. He turns his face back to me.
"Emily, If you think you can do this then do it. But be careful. We won't be far behind you if you need help" I patted his arm and start moving towards the door.
"Please note that I think this is a bad idea," Hannah says as I ran past her. Loki is close behind.
"NOTED" Loki and I both yell.

"Mel!" I yell. I follow the sounds of weeping. We all followed the sounds, We got outside a bathroom. I knew her cry anyway. I turn to the group "Wait here"
"I will be right there if you need me" Loki spoke. I quite enjoy his protective side.
"It's Melody, She won't hurt me"

"Rather clean considering it's run by the creepy clerk" I round the corner and see that Melody is standing in front of the mirror, Clutching the marble sink. I put the goblet behind me.
"What has happened to me? What am I?" Melody looks at her reflection and then at mine "What did you do to me?"
"I asked Loki to save you. I asked him to turn you into a vampire. You had lost far too much blood when you were attacked. You are still my bestie" I placed a gentle hand on Melody's back.
"But this ain't me. That woman in the mirror isn't me, Your bestie is a beastie"
"You're still you. But you are also a vampire"
"A real vampire? They are real!?" Melody turns to me. Her lips curl into a smile. There's the real Melody I know and love "I fucking knew it!"
"Really?" I leaned on the wall.
"Oh come on. We both deal with shit when it comes to my uncle's job. If HULK can exist. And that sandman and black gooey spider blob then, of course, vampires are real" Melody claps her hands together. Only she would be excited about this "I was talking with my uncle the other day, He was on about a conspiracy theory that he read on the dark web. They've been hyping up the vampires for a while. And Bigfoot" Melody then looks around the room, and I can see that she has a lot of questions "He knew about vampires, didn't he?"
"More or less"
"That bastard" Melody clenched her hands "I feel... I feel as if someone is playing operations inside me" Melody put her hand on her tummy "I'm a video game character, I have superhero senses. I can feel and see everything. Even the water running 3 stories above us!"
"And?"
"And I am hungry. Like I could devour an entire pizza store"
"Yeah, About that" I held the goblet tightly.
"Pizza is not gonna cut it, Is it?" Melody asked "And I guess I can no longer have those banging garlic rolls from the pizza shop?"
"Nope. But we do have some good news. We may have found a way that will stop you from turning into a mindless beast that drinks blood"
"May have? Don't tell me that I could still turn into one?"
"It is still a possibility"
"Well excuse for not throwing, 'You're dead but you're not a mindless beast' party" Melody put her hands on her hips.
"At least you are still you"
"Look at me, Em. I have fangs and bright bloody eyes. Though the eyes I can kind of get on board with, I can say they are contacts. Be like an anime girl" She leans on the sink and it crumbles into pieces under her hands, causing her to fall forward.
"Mel!"
"Oh, shit. Guessing super strength is a thing?" She exclaimed. I just nod. Melody stares at the rubble, Stunned and then collapses, Sobbing her heart out "This is too fucking much!" I kneel down and hold her close.
"I will be there to hold your hand and help you" I grab her hand in mine "I have something that will help" I raise the goblet and Melody eyes it up.
"Please tell me that is a tequila sunrise?"
"Just drink it"
"Is this?" Melody whispers. I nod. Melody gulps as she takes the goblet "Are you fucking mad? Am I really...?" She sniffs it, Her eyes light up and sparkle "Why does it smell good?"
"Because your body needs it" Mel sniffs the blood and guzzles the liquid down.
"My god, That is sweet!" she then downs the last few drops "That was the most delicious drink I have ever had and I went drinking with Tony Stark"
"here" I grab a paper towel to wipe the blood from her lip. Trying really hard not to tell her that it is mine. That would definitely freak her out. I put the goblet on the counter. The creepy clerk can deal with it.
"This is so fucking weird. Never in my life did I think that I would be part of the supernatural world!"
"Neither did I but here we are"
"My uncle is gonna flip" Melody ran a hand over her face "So, Let me get this straight, Your boss, Loki, is a vampire"
"Yes. And a strong one" He is also hot as hell but I won't tell Melody that.
"Is Wish list Elsa in a suit a vamp?"
"No, Thank god. Her name is Hannah and she is just his VP" And she is not going to be happy about Melody turning into a vampire.
"And what about the prettiest and hottest woman I have ever met?"
"Sif. Oh, she is one. A strong one at that. She should be at like 2000 years old"
"Cool. So this is my life now?" Melody looks at me. I nod "It's a good job that I like to sleep all day and party all night"
"It's like you were born to be a vampire" I pat my best friend's shoulder and stand up, Offering her my hand "Come on, I'll introduce you to the others"

We walk out of the bathroom and see the others waiting for us. Loki smiles. He looks like he wants to rush over to me. Hannah's glaring and Sif is well, being Sif.
"See, I told you that your little pet will be fine" Sif playfully hits a stressed-looking Loki on the arm.
"Everything turned out alright then?" he looks at Melody.
"Doing a little better" She nods. Wrapping her arms around her "So, you're the big boss vampire man? And according to this one, you saved my life?"
"Yes to both questions" Loki nods his head.
"In that case. Thank you"
"That's quite alright" Loki straightened his tie "And as of now, I'm now responsible for you. Since I was the one who turned you. I will help guide you and train you in this new way of life"
"Really, Loki? You are going to teach her?"
"Well, yes. I am her maker. I'm responsible for Melody"
"You couldn't teach a fly. I will do it" Sif pushed Loki to the side. Loki frowned in confusion "You have got the council to deal with. I can handle this one" Sif grinned "Besides, there are things I can teach her that you couldn't"
"Is this heaven?" Melody leaned in and whispered to me.
"Behave" I warned her.
"So, Melody, Will you let me teach you?" Sif stared at Melody. Does that woman only have one emotion?
"I'm up for it" Melody bounced and nearly tripped over. Sif snorts and Loki shrugs.
"Thank you Sif" Loki patted his friend's shoulder.
"As much as this is a happy start. You still have to deal with the rest of the council" Hannah finally spoke up.
"Hannah, I can handle them" Loki looked over his shoulder at his VP.
"Of course and in the meantime, I'll run the whole bloody company" She whirls on her heel and storms away.
"I like that one" Sif smiles softly. I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic. I looked at Melody who had her head sideways.
"What are you looking for?" I poke Melody in the arm.
"Ice particles. What's Elsa's problem?" Melody straightened up. I shrugged.
"She's a bitch"
"Come, Melody. There is so much I need to teach you" Sif waves her hand to the elevator. Melody looks at me.
"Just go" I push her towards Sif. Melody hugs me tight and leaves with Sif. Melody can barely contain herself. All I know is that she is somewhere between horny, Freaked and hyperactive kitty. Or she is all three.
"So, It's just us now?" Loki turned to me once the elevator has closed. I felt a little nervous. He looked up at the elevator's numbers and he knew that Sif and Melody had already got out.
"I guess it is" I wonder if he regrets what we did. I know he said that he wasn't letting me go very far but Loki is hot and I am just... me.
"Let's head up to my office and I will explain what happens next"

Once in Loki's office, I head to the bathroom and change into the office clothes that I left here.
"This flapper dress I amazing but I love my clothes more" I put my flat shoes on and sighed. I hate being in heels "Comfy"

I leave the dress on the side and flop into a big leather chair. Loki is at his computer and staring at a screen.
"So what is Sif going to do with Mel?" I pick at my hand.
"Teach her about being a vampire. Help her with feeding, Avoiding daylight and controlling her emotions. It can take some time to adapt to being a vampire" Loki tapped at the keyboard "She will talk her through how to feed on someone"
"I don't need the gory details" I put my hand up to put a stop to the conversation.
"But you do need to understand what lies ahead for Melody"
"at this minute, she is a homeless vampire and we need to get her approved by a bunch of pompous pricks" Loki looked almost impressed that I remember the facts "Till then, She's running the risk of being coming grey bones"
"Now we need the majority of the council to approve her"
"What will happen to her if she doesn't get approved?"
"They will kill her" Loki keeps his face looking at his screen.
"Why?" I stopped picking at my hand and dug my nails into my skin. Loki looked at my hands and sighed. he stood up and walked around his desk and sat on it in front of me.
"Because they are mewling quims. They might say no in order to discourage these kinds of 'What is done, is done' petitions. It's a cruel design"
"so even after saving her life. She still might die?"
"And then we will have Nick Fury on our ass which still could be another thing we will need to sort out" Loki ran his hands over his face. I'm not surprised that Loki knew about SHIELD. Being a technology company that tries to do good, SHIELD like to have its fingers in a lot of pies and Loki's company has tasty pies "We have a shot at saving her, It's just not a great one"
"I ain't gonna like this am I?"
"We need to get four of the six's approval"
"And since you and Sif are part of the council. We only need 2 more" That's better than nothing. I had a little more hope than I did 10 minutes ago.
"That's the problem. It will be difficult to get their approval" Loki gripped the desk.
"So there's possible votes from Hela, Volstagg. Fandral. Erugh. I hate those 3"
"However, I can place a very good bet that those three will be voting no"
"So that leaves one more. Who is the last member? you mentioned a Hogun?" I place a hand on my forehead and looked a the ground.
"Hogun, The senator for New York."
"Senator Hogun? The man who wants to be president? He's a vampire?" my mouth dropped. I always thought he was an oddball.
"The very same" Loki smiled.
"So why is he a problem?"
"He hates the vampires that don't have a clan. Truly hates them" I hung my head. Melody was fucked "If we can secure Hogun as a third vote, A fourth will be easier to get"
"We cannot take no for an answer" I clapped my hands together as I stood up.
"I could bring up the greatest weapon I can wield against a politician" Loki patted his suit "My wallet"
"Hang on, It's daytime. How can we go see him?" I frowned as Loki walked around his desk again "How does he even function in daylight?"
"I told you how remember? We can survive in sunlight for a while. Half an hour is enough time to walk from a car with tinted windows to a town hall" he grinned as he grabbed some keys from a drawer "Plus, he fed the media some bullshit about having some sensitivity to light"
"Nice cover story" I pouted while nodding "It has to be difficult though"
"Oh, it is. He has no choice but to force himself to work daylight hours" He sounds like another pompous idiot. Apart from Sif and Loki, I don't like the council very much.
"he must really love politics then" I rolled my eyes.
"No, He just loves power" Loki walked to the elevator "Come on"
"You want me to come with you?" I stuttered.
"I told you, I ain't letting you go very far" Loki offered me his arm. Smiling, I took it and we left the office. I was a little worried about how Loki would cope for long hours in the daylight but if I knew Loki, He will be fine.

We head down to Loki's chair and head north. Driving through the city. I rest my head on the windows. I watched as a Lambo drove past.
"So, what was it like when cars got invented?"
"It was exciting. I even invested in the automobile" Loki beamed. He was so adorable when he got excited.
"So, you weren't like, No car, horses are the way to go?"
"Perk of being immortal is that you get used to things changing." Loki smiled, Quickly glancing at me "The world has changed so much since I've been alive. Don't get me wrong, I've seen terrible things in this world. there's been so much growth" Loki stopped at a traffic light "With this life that I have been given, I will help this world to be better"
"You are totally the guy that gets the newest phone when it drops, aren't you?" I joked.
"Perks of being a billionaire" He flashed me a toothy grin "Most vampires that are old enough do it. I go for phones and tech. Sif is phones too. Hogun likes cars. Fandral likes his motorbikes. Hela goes nutty when Prada has a sale. Volstagg is the only one who never grew out of his era"
"Lucky for some. I've had the same phone for about 4 years"
"Should have said, I just gave last year's model to Hannah"
"She already hates me for making you turn Melody, I ain't up stealing her phone yet" I looked out the window "Maybe next year"

Soon enough, Loki drives into a wealthy neighbourhood. He pulls into a circular driveway that is lined with fancy cars.
"There it is. Hogun's mansion"
"fuck me" I swear I heard Loki say he wishes he could "This place is stunning! I see what you mean about the cars"
"Helps that he has money and fairly good taste" Loki scoffed.
"Fairly good? You don't like it"
"There are some things that I would do differently"
"Snob" I jest as I get out of the car.
"not a snob, Just a man of taste" Loki steps out of the car and hands his keys to the valet parking attendant. We stroll together through the mansion's wide doors. The sunlight hits Loki's skin "OW fuck" he hissed.
"Loki, are you okay?"
"Yeah yeah, It's been a long day. Vampiric powers are a little drained. Normally, I am asleep at this point. I will be fine once we can get back to the office" Loki shakes his hand. Clenching it over and over again "Come on"

We enter the massive foyer to see Hogun holding a press conference in front of a dozen reporters.
"He is much better looking on TV than in real life," I thought as I craned my neck over the sea of flashing lights.
"It's just common sense and a matter of restoring the quality of life in our great state!" The crowd claps "I'm happy to announce that we shall also be increasing the number of policemen on our streets and forming a task force that will reverse the recent uptick in these terrible street crimes"
"Is he talking about the feral?" I leaned closer to Loki.
"Yes. In a roundabout route," Loki rolled his eyes.
"We shall restore order, Take back our street and put an end to these senseless attacks! We will take our city back!"
"he is charismatic" I admired. But the more I look at him. The more I don't like him.
"He always was a lady killer. Quite literally sometimes" Loki put his hands behind his back "I suppose that you find him attractive, Like everyone else?"
"You sound jealous" I teased. Loki turned his head away. He was totally jealous. It is so strange to see "No, I don't find him attractive. I've got a thing for someone else"
"oh?" Loki said with disappointment. Men are idiots.
"Don't worry about it. Wouldn't want your face to get wrinkles" I winked.
"I wasn't worried" Loki smiled as he licked his lips. Lust filled his eyes. He then looked away "Looks like he is done"
"Thank you! Thank you all for your time and attention"

As the reporters leave, Loki approaches Hogun off to one side.
"Loki! Good to see you old friend"
"Likewise. This is my assistant, Emily" Loki pushed me forward "She's a fan" I glared at Loki and shook hands with Hogun.
"It is an honour to meet you" I pretend to get all hyper. Pretty much like Melody does when a new game drops for PS5.
"And to what do I owe the pleasure of having you both?" Hogun eyes me up.
"We have some business to discuss" Loki spoke quietly as some reporters walked past.
"What business?" Hogun takes a quick glance at me, Subtly asking Loki if it is safe to talk about such things in front of me.
"Your favourite type" Loki followed Hogun's eyes "She is safe. And an integral part of the situation. To cut a long story short. Someone or something. Attack Emily's best friend, Melody"
"I'm sorry to hear that Emily" Hogun took a deep breath in.
"She would have died. If I wasn't there to turn her" Looki replied before I could.
"Ah, I see why you are here"
"I'm going to petition the council for an exception, To grant her my next open spot" Loki covered his mouth as a staff member walked passed "It was an emergency. You see my dilemma"
"Of course. Anyone with a heart would have done the same" Hogun moved us away from the stairs "You know the council rarely grants these petitions" He looked around "And as sad as this situation is, Turning her, Only created more problems for you"
"Please, She's my best friend" I begged.
"Emily, Your devotion to your friend is refreshing. Those human bonds are what makes the world worth living in" Hogun stared into my eyes "But even you must step back ad see it from a political view. Not just for Loki but for anyone who backs him"
"What is done is done" Loki replied. He seemed unhappy that Hogun was looking at me.
"I'm sorry Loki. It would be too high of a cost supporting you in this" Hogun steps away then stops "Unless you have a beneficial solution in mind?"
"I might" Loki straightened his jacket "How about we discuss a possible contribution to your idea that you were talking about?"
"That is still very early. We're just getting set up"
"Would a contribution help? A substantial contribution?" Loki was amazingly good and making deals. A guess a perk of being a vampire is that your charismatic skill goes up a whole level.
"I think it might. That's very generous of you Loki" Hogun grinned.
"Call it an investment. And I am more than happy to do it" Loki bowed his head. Another pause as we wait for Hogun to return the favour but he doesn't "How else can I help?"
"There is another vote coming up and I would appreciate your support" Hogun placed his hands behind his back "As you know the feral is becoming a problem. It's near enough out of hand"
"We know" Loki spoke. I ain't going to like this deal.
"Even the humans are getting suspicious. There have been too many sightings"
"Too many attacks" I look at the floor as I think about the lady from central park. Loki patted my back gently.
"Indeed, It's clear to me that we need a more permanent solution"
"What did you have in mind?" Loki frowned.
"We can't keep waiting for the unwanted vampires to go beastly, We need to attack them first" Hogun smack one hand with the other "Too long have we let the thrive in the shadows, We need to go offensive"
"you want to kill them because they exist?" I semi-yelled. Hogun nodded.
"Emily" Loki pulled me to his side. Think he was afraid that I would slap Hogun. Believe me when I say it was tempting.
"May I speak to you, Loki"
"Excuse us, Senator" Loki lead us away. Hogun waves us away as he goes on his phone.

"What?" Loki spoke. He had his back to the senator.
"You can't let him hunt them" I whispered.
"I don't think it will come to that. But I will need to voice my support so we can gain his vote to keep Melody alive" I didn't think Loki would be on my side about this. I thought the council members stuck together.
"It's not right"
"Darling," Loki whispered. He took my hand in his "I agree with you but it is necessary"
"Still wrong"
"I know and I promise you, We will find a way to help them but right now, We have to play in their court"

The three of us soon stood together again. Though Loki kept me away from Hogun.
"So Loki, Will I have your support?" Hogun grinned. knowing that he would have it.
"You do" Loki agreed reluctantly.
"Excellent. Thank you. And for your contribution. It is very appreciated"
"So can we count on your vote to save Melody?"
"Who would I be to turn my back on a vampire in need" Hogun grinned. It was the same grin that he gave the reporters.
"A jackass" This is why I hate politics.
"Thank you"
"Thanks for coming by. And it was nice meeting you, Emily. I wish it was under better circumstances" I shake his hand. Hogun raises it to his lips and kisses the back of it.
"Another creep" I took my hand back "Nice meeting you too" Hogun walks off. Leaving Loki and me in the hallway. I shudder.
"you okay?" Loki runs a hand over my upper arm.
"he's almost as creepy as Fandral" I wiped my hand on my skirt. better disinfect that later.
"At least we got his vote" Did we though? He didn't actually say yes.
"That was..." I bit my lip.
"Politics" Loki finished the sentence.
"It was wrong"
"Deals with Hogun often are" Loki lead me back to where the valet man was "300 years ago, He was a Spanish lord who was known for being cruel and a tyrant. He learned how to look like he gives a damn but really is thinking how to pop your head off"
"And now we are in his debt" I sighed.
"Which is a terrible place to be" Loki then quickly spoke to the valet man, who ran off to get the chair.
"It's the vampires I made friends with that I feel sorry for"
"Whatever he is planning, is a long way off. And we can block every obstacle we can till then"
"Like what?"
"He'll need my lab to build stuff. I can make it so it leaks" Loki smiled mischievously "In the meantime, a cautious celebration is in order. We only need one more vote"
"If this the easy vote. Who is the next one gonna be?" please let it be Hela. I like her more than Volstagg. Besides, I doubt Thor will save me again.
"I have an idea on that but I need to talk to Sif"

By the time we get back to the office, Night has fallen. As I get out of the car, I see a figure across the street and immediately recognize him. When our eyes meet, he nods and ducks away into the shadows.
"You okay?" he frowned.
"Yeah, Just need some air. You go on up. I'll be a minute" Loki looks at me and then walks off inside. I make sure he has gone and I walk to the alley.

I find Thor leaning against the wall.
"Now then" he grins.
"What are you doing here? Isn't it dangerous?"
"cons of being without a clan. everything is dangerous" Thor shrugged as he scoffed.
"I saw some commotion last night and I wanted to make sure you are okay?"
"Aww, Were you worried about me?" I teased.
"More concerned than worried" Thor shifted on the spot "You okay though"
"Not really" I shrugged. Thor picked at his bottom lip.
"Then let's go for a walk. Walking helps me clear my head" Thor pointed down the street "There's a bar that offers the sweetest beer I have ever tasted"
"I can't my friend is up there waiting for me. She needs me right now"
"I get it. Don't worry" Thor holds his hands up.
"Thanks for offering to listen to me rant"
"You have my number, Call me if you change your mind"
"I will keep that in mind" Thor nods and then disappears into the shadows. I wait a minute before going back inside.

I head back up to Loki's office to find Loki with Sif and Melody. She is looking more like herself. (Which is a relief)
"Mel!" I hug her.
"Hey girl" She cheered.
"You look great? How are you doing?"
"Everything is still a learning curve but I am deffo better than before" Melody did a little kerching "I did put a hole in a brick wall. Officially a badass"
"You always were" I can already see that Melody is so much more comfortable in her skin.
"Hold up, You started her with combat training?" Loki turned his head towards Sif.
"Well duh, It's the fun part of being a vampire" Sif beamed. Loki rolled his eyes.
"So has Sif or Loki filled you in on what's going on?"
"No, I don't know nothing about no secret pompous council that wants my head. I know nothing" Melody shook her head "Why didn't you tell me about all this?"
"I didn't want to put you in danger"
"Look how well that worked out," Melody said sarcastically "Just trust me next time. Okay. No secrets."
"Deal"
"Also, It's just me... Or all vampires hot as fuck" Melody drooled.
"And most are douchbags" I scratched my chin.
"oh? I need names and details"
"Ahem. So how was the meeting with Hogun?" Sif coughed loudly.
"We got his vote" Loki spoke. His hands are in his pocket.
"Why do I get the feeling that is not good?" Melody raised her hand as we sat on the leather sofa.
"He's a douchbag" I whispered. Melody nodded.
"It is good. We have three votes and need one more" Loki held up one finger.
"And how long till I get judged?" Melody wrapped her arms around her knees.
"Likely tomorrow" Loki sighed. Melody hid her head in her knees "Sif, We need to talk strategy as well as some other stuff"
"Then I guess we will head home" I went to stand up but Melody grabbed my arm.
"Can we not? I don't really want to go back to the place I was murdered" Melody didn't move.
"Melody's right, it is not recommended" Sif spoke.
"I wish I could remember what happened but all remember is making some cereal, then being in a box"
"there where do we go?" I looked at Melody, Who shrugged. We couldn't go to her uncle's. Fury would lock her up.
"There's a guest suite upstairs. I call ahead and have the staff prepare it" Loki hands me a special keycard. it is silver and has the word guest on it "Just go to the 45th floor"
"Thanks" I take the key and share a smile with him. He then winks at me as I turn to grab Melody.
"See you two in a few" Sif waves bye.

We go to the 45th floor and our mouths drop as we exit the elevator.
"Fuck me!"
"Bend over then" Melody spins on the spot "Whoa"
"Double whoa" The apartment is huge in size. Modern open plan. Neutral colours. Light-blocking shades on the floor-to-ceiling windows. Melody ran around the place.
"That is a stunning view of Manhattan!" I see a note on the table next to the door "I feel like I am in the set of Lucifer!"
"Mel! There's a note" I undid the wax seal "It's from Loki" I assume he had the staff write this. Or he has a secret elevator. Though that wouldn't surprise me.
"What's it say?" Melody stuck her head around a wall.
"Please, Enjoy your stay and enjoy all the luxuries of the suite" I smiled as I put the note down.
"That I can get behind" Melody clapped her hands. Aiming for the minibar.
"Perks of being a billionaire and a vampire" I hugged myself.
"This life is going to be amazing" Melody squealed "So what's your plan?"
"I plan on taking advantage of that bed. I've been awake for like over 24 hours. My bones hurt" I cracked my neck. It felt oddly nice.
"Oh you could stay up a little longer with me" Melody grinned as she pointed to the minibar.
"Nah, mate. I'm fucked. I need sleep" I declined as I took my shoes off. That bed does look comfy.
"Then I am gonna stay up all night and eat random things If that is cool?"
"You did that as a human"
"Touche" I walk over to Melody and hugged her "I know I freaked out on you earlier but, Thank you. Really, I mean it"
"You would have done the same for me" It's true, I know she would "Besides there is no one I would rather have by my side than you"
"Even if I am a blood-drinking monster?"
"you are not a monster" I gripped Melody by the shoulders, making her look at me "But with you like this, I wouldn't have it any other way. Or anyone else,"
"Yeah, you would" Melody smirks.
"Who?" I fold my arms.
"You know who" Melody squeezes me tightly as she bounds off to the kitchen. I stare at her dumbfoundedly.
"I wonder what she knows?" I shrugged as I walk over to the massive bed and curl up the warm blankets "Damn these are soft" As I nod off, I think of the challenges that face our group. The council's vote, sorting out the feral problem and dealing with Thor's people.
