"Bennet? It's time for school," I hear Cameron say at my door.

I grumble. "Five more minutes."

"I heard about what happened. I'm really sorry that happened, but you can't skip school." I sigh. I know that, but I still don't want to go.

"Besides. You have tutoring today," He points out.

I get up. "Okay, that is the thing I'm going to skip today. I'll just send Bruce to give her another practice test to do and have him take the other practice test that she already did." My heart is screaming inside.

"Hey! Is that?" He picks up the ripped piece of paper that Jinx gave me before I left.

"Oh, that? Ugh. Can you throw it away?"

"Heck no! If that is a girl's number, I would not pass that up!"

I roll my eyes.

"If you're not going to use it, I will," Cameron ignores me.

"No no no no no! Fine... I'll use it," I grab my phone.

Hey. This is Bennet. You gave me your number yesterday?

OMG! Hi Bennet! So I am having a party. do u want to come?

I don't know. Is Aiko going to be there?

No. Me and her aren't on good terms right now

Okay. Just text me the time, day, and what I should wear. But I don't want to match anybody.

That's fine, Bennet. I won't make u. The party is on friday, at 3 since friday is a half day. Just wear something nice, since it's a christmas party

Okay.

Looks like I'm going to a party on Friday.

I head to school, late, which is not normal for me, but I don't really care. Today, my goal is to avoid Aiko as much as possible, which is probably going to be impossible because I have ELA with her, but who knows. Maybe she will not come or be late. Hopefully it's the last one. I don't want her to be sick or anything. Even though I am really upset at her for making it seem like she kind of liked me, and then backstabbing me, I don't blame her... pull yourself together Bennet! She doesn't like you! Get over yourself! I shake my head and head into my first class. Today is going to be like any other day.

Now what do I do? I didn't have to pick up my siblings today, so that's out of the question. Maybe I could work on a school assignment? No. I don't have any. I decide to play some Bruno Mars and figure out what I'm going to wear tomorrow for the party.
