--Luna POV--

Luna paced outside the entrance to the hut she shared with Blue. She was... well, she was having a hard time.

Swordtail had broken up with her for a pretty LeafWing.

And she couldn't stop thinking about a certain bespecked HiveWing...

Luna lingered in front of the door for a moment and heard what sounded like an argument. She looked left and right, then pressed her ear to the door.

"...I don't understand," she heard Cricket's voice say plainitively. Her heart skipped a beat and she steadied her breathing. She needed to know what was happening.

"I don't..." Blue said quietly. "I don't love you anymore, Cricket. I'm sorry. It isn't working out."

Luna heard Cricket gasp, then talonfalls towards the door. She darted out of the way just in time as Cricket ran out, sobbing.

She felt sorry for Cricket, but also... hopeful?

Maybe she could figure out what was going on.

So she followed Cricket.

--Cricket POV--

Cricket sat by a shallow stream, trailing her claws in the water and occasionally sniffing back tears. She heard wingbeats and hurriedly wipes her eyes before looking up, where a caterpillar green SilkWing was descending.

Luna.

Cricket smiled in spite of herself, then blinked.

What was going on?

Luna landed beside her. "Are you OK?" she asked.

"I had a fight with Blue..." Cricket sobbed. "He doesn't love me anymore..."

Luna nodded sympathetically and wrapped her wings around the crying HiveWing. Cricket leant into her, her eyes slowly drying as Luna murmured to her quietly, stroking her spines.

After a little bit, Cricket took a deep breath in and smiled. There was something about Luna that always calmed her down... that made her feel safe...

"Luna?" she said.

"Yeah?" the SilkWing replied.

"I think..." Cricket blushed. "I think I... like you. Like like you."

Luna blushed too, and smiled. "I like like you too," she said.

"Really?" Cricket said with surprise. "I thought you didn't like HiveWings..."

"I didn't," Luna replied. "Then I met you. And at first I was always wary, because I didn't think that HiveWings could be good, but you showed me that everyone can change. And I love you for that."

"I love you too," Cricket said, snuggling up against her and tipping her chin up. "I don't need anyone else."

Luna smiled again, and kissed her.

And all was well.
