Marinette finished painting & placed the brushes back in the box, shutting the lid
"Okay. This is the big day, Tikki! I'm gonna do it. I'm finally gonna ask her!" Marinette exclaimed, feeling determined
"Marinette! Let down your hair!" Gothel called
"Eeek! It's time!" She squealed, grinning a lot
Tikki sat up straight & nodded her head
"Okay. You have to hide. Remember, she can't see you" She said
She placed Tikki on the wall, who blended in with the painting
She closed the curtains
"Oh, Marinette! I'm not getting any younger down here!" She sing-songed
"I'm coming, Mother!" She replied
She threw her hair down and Gothel held on it, letting Marinette bring her up the tower
"Hi! Welcome home, Mother!" She sighed, pulling her hair up
"Oh, Marinette. I am still very surprised that you can do that. It looks absolutely exhausting, darling" She said
"No, don't worry. It's nothing" I replied
"Then I don't wonder why it takes so long" She added, tapping her nose
"Oh! Mother, I'm sorry!" She gasped, feeling hesitant
"Oh, sweetie. It's okay. I'm only teasing" She laughed
Gothel walked towards the mirror, looking at herself
"Oh. All right, then. So, Mother. Tomorrow is a very big day and I was wondering if maybe..." She started
"Listen, Marinette. Come here. Do you know what I see? A confident, strong, and gorgeous young lady. Oh wait, you're there too" She interrupted
Marinette looked at her with a confused look
"Oh, darling! I'm only teasing! Just don't take everything so seriously!" She giggled, looking at herself
"Okay... so, Mother. I was wondering if.." She started
"Listen, Marinette. Mother's feeling very tired right now. Do you think you could sing a song for me, dear? Then we can talk" She suggested
"Yes! Of course, Mother!" She agreed excitedly
Marinette quickly grabbed the chair, placed Gothel down, grabbed the hairbrush, sat down on the stool, and placed it in her hand
"Flower gleam & glow. Let your power shine. Make the clock reverse. Bring back what once was mine" She sang
Her hair started glowing bright blue
"Wait! I need you to slow down!" She said
"Heal what has been hurt. Change the fate's design. Save what has been lost. Bring back once was mine" She continued, singing faster
"Marinette, that's enough!" She scolded, putting the brush down
"Mother, as I was saying, tomorrow is a big day, but you didn't get a chance to respond! So I'm just going tell you, it's my birthday! Ta-da!" She giggled, holding her arm
"No, no. I distinctly remember. Your birthday was last year" She said
"Yeah. But I guess that's the thing about birthdays. They're kind of an annual thing. The thing is, I'm officially eighteen. So, I kind of wanted to ask that what I really want for my birthday is... actually, what I've wanted for quite a few birthdays now.." She stammered
