ミ☆ chapter six; the beginning to an end

The day lasted way too long for Renza's liking. She had spent most of it explaining to Erik most of the inventions in the lab. She wanted to lie, but she feared he would see right through it.
It had become frighteningly clear how determined he was to get what he wanted. He didn't care how many lives were lost as long as he succeeded.
He didn't want to be like T'Challa. He wanted to kill people like T'Challa.
That alone made Renza feel sick.
She hadn't heard from Shuri either for almost twenty-four hours. She had to continue about her day as if she wasn't freaking out internally because it felt as though everything was crumbling and she couldn't do a thing about it. She never even got to tell Shuri about the secret she had been carrying on her own since she was born.
She was overthinking, but she didn't have much to go off of. She just hoped that M'Baku was kind enough to help them. Maybe he did hate the way Wakanda had been overseen, but he had to have hated Killmonger's plans way more.
Renza ended up getting no sleep, too lost in her thoughts to realize how late it was until the sunlight began to dance on her brown skin through her curtains.
She should've been more concerned with the fact that she was incredibly sleep-deprived. But, there was something else she cared more about.
The fact that she still had not gotten a single word from Shuri since the previous morning. Today was the day that Killmonger planned to deliver Wakandan inventions to places outside of their nation didn't exactly help calm her down either.
She wasn't sure she'd be able to get any sort of rest until she was sure that they were all safe, and from the way it looked, Renza would be running on coffee the entire day, much like she was yesterday.
"You look awful," one of the younger interns, Tinu, joked as she approached Renza at her desk.
"Thanks," Renza replied sarcastically, still offering a smile. "Why are you down here? King N'Jadaka said we were all to be on Mount Bashenga."
"I noticed our boss was missing," Tinu answered, an apologetic smile on her face. That's when it became clear to Renza that Shuri's absence had made an evident effect in her behavior..
Renza shifted uncomfortably at the title "boss". It didn't feel right. "I barely know what I'm doing. I do not deserve the boss title."
