Once we arrived at the lodge to check I was sitting by the fire with Sage, keeping her busy and out of the way.
"Auntie Ivy..." She said and I looked at her sitting in my lap.
"What sweetie?" I asked.
"Will Santa be able to find me here? I mean I'm not home and we are going to be here. I'm scared." She said and I snuggled her close to me.
"Of course, he will baby girl. Santa knows everything. Remember the song..."
🎵He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness' sake🎵Once I finished singing the song to her, she smiled at me.
"Which is creepy when you think about it. I mean the man is watching us 24 hours a day 7 days a week." Colin said walking up to us and I groaned.
"Colin..." I groaned and subtly looked at Sage. He sighed.
"Uncle Colin...do you believe in Santa?" Sage asked and I looked at Colin.
"Yeah, Uncle Colin...do you?" I asked.
"Do you?" Colin asked and I nodded.
"Of course, I do! Don't you know if you don't believe in Santa, you get socks and underwear for Christmas?!" I said and Sage gasped.
"Really?!" She asked.
"Of course! I mean it's known fact." I said and Sage then looked back at Colin.
"Well Uncle Colin...do you believe?" Sage asked.
"Well following that logic, I guess have to." Colin said and I nodded. "Although I could use some socks for Christmas..." Colin trailed off and Sage giggled. Our parents came back over and smiled at us.
"Okay we are all checked in. The cabin isn't quite ready yet so why don't we get something to eat and then we go check it out." Jasper said and we all nodded Sage held my hand as we walked to the lodge restaurant.
"Mommy..." Sage asked and looked up at Melissa who was walking on the other side of her.
"What?" Melissa asked.
"Are we going to have a tree in the lodge when we get there?" Sage asked.
"Nope but we asked, and we can get one, they have lights and decorations in the crawl space." Melissa said and we smiled down at Sage.
"How about tomorrow Ivy and I take you out to get a tree?" Colin said and I looked at him.
"PLEASE AUNTIE IVY?!" Sage yelled.
"Hey no yelling. I guess we can..." I said and then looked at Colin, "This means no Led Zeppelin in the car." I said and he groaned.
"I got it Ivy." Colin said as we sat down at the table to get some food.
❤💚❤💚
Once we were done eating, we headed to the cabin, and I was just excited to get settled into a room and relax for a little bit. Once we drove up to the cabin, I smiled at how big it was. We walked in and I noticed a fire started in the fireplace at the coziness of this cabin.
"Okay so we have 5 bedrooms. Now Melissa and Dylan get the one room off the kitchen because it has a big bed and a small bed for Sage." Wes said and they nodded as they headed to their room.
"Wes and I and Jasper and Darlene, we will take the 2 master bedrooms upstairs. Brent and Monica get the room off the dining room." Barb said and we all nodded.
"Colin and I? I mean by count we have to share a room...." I said and they sighed.
"Right about that. We were told it was separate in the basement. I'm sure you two can figure it out." Jasper said and we looked at each other.
"Okay fine, let's go check it out." I said and Colin nodded. He grabbed both of our suitcases and we headed down the stairs. Once we reached downstairs, we saw a sitting area that one had a chair with a small fireplace.
"Well...let's check out the room situation. I opened the bedroom door and we both stopped in shock.
"You have got to be fucking kidding me!?" We both yelled. We were looking into a room and the only form of a bed in the room was a set of bunkbeds.
"So, which do you prefer to be on top or bottom?" Colin asked. I glared at him as he was smirking at me.
"This isn't a joke, Colin! I'm not sharing a room with you or sleeping on bunk beds!" I said and pulled out my cellphone.
"Loon Mountain main lodge, front desk speaking." The voice answered the phone.
"Yes, this is Ivy Walters, we are staying in cabin 5." I said.
"Oh yes Miss Walters, is there a problem with the cabin?" The lady asked nicely.
"Oh no, it seems fine. I was just wondering if you had rooms at the main lodge open? Single bed is fine." I said. I heard her typing.
"No Miss Walters, we are sorry, but your families got the last availability." She said and I groaned.
"Okay, thank you." I said and hung up. Colin looked at me.
"So...?" He asked.
"Well, our families got the last availabilities. So, nothing is open. This is our only option." I said. Colin just groaned.
"So, we are stuck with this arrangement?" Colin asked and I nodded.
"Unless one of our parents or Brent and Monica want to switch rooms." I said.
"I'll asked my parents." Colin asked and went to go upstairs. I grabbed his arm as he went to walk by.
"Are you forgetting Colin, these are the only separate beds. We switch with someone we share a bed." I said and he groaned.
"So, bunk beds?" Colin asked.
"Bunk beds..." I said.
"I call top bunk." Colin said.
"Have at it." I said and placed my suitcase in the corner of the room. I looked at the bunkbeds and was grateful they were full size mattresses and not tiny little ones. I saw Colin climb up on top and huffed a laugh.
"Have to be the dominate one on top huh?" I asked and he smirked at me.
"You want to find it out firsthand?" Colin said.
"No thanks. I can't stand to be disappointed more on this trip." I said.
"Wow..." Colin said getting off the bunk and walking away. I just sighed and sat on the edge of my bed.
This was turning out to be one hell of a trip.
