"Oh, Jeremy, where have you been?" Mr. Gonzales words echoed.

"Sorry Gran, just had some mixed up on my way here." The high school boy answered.

"Well, there's no point in scolding you." Mr. Gonzales then looks at Lindon and Lila apologetically he continued. "I'm sorry. This is my grandson Jeremy Gonzales. Jeremy this is Mr. Lindon Mill and his daughter Ms. Lila Mill." He gestured towards Jeremy to extend his arms in a handshake.

"Please to meet you, Mr. Mill," Jeremy said while extending his arms towards Lindon. When he's gesturing toward Lila, he paused.

"You're the woman I bumped into a while ago. I'm sorry again ma'am and pleased to meet you."

"Nice to meet you Jeremy, and I believe I also owe you an apology too. I'm running without actually looking where I'm heading." Lila said while shaking Jeremy's hand in a firm grip.

"Sweet pea. It's nothing. We're cool." Jeremy said without letting go of Lila's hand.

"Shall we order then? I'm starving" Lila said to get over the awkward silence.

Lindon then responded in agreement "To that, I agree! Waiter, wine please." raising his wine glass for the waiter to refill.

Jeremy settled on his seat. Not wanting to move or do anything drastic. He grew up with silver spoons coming from a very rich family, but he isn't the type who always gets what he wanted. His parents were rigorous and old school. They believed in hard work and earning to get a living. They groomed Jeremy not to be a CEO but to start from the smallest post and eventually become one someday should he decide to join the company. His father never imposed anything on him because he doesn't want Jeremy to grow up the way he did. Unexpectedly though, Jeremy's parents died in a car accident a few years ago, along with their death is a change in Jeremy's world. Apparently, he doesn't have the choice his father told him he has. With no other heir to the company's fortune and leadership, his only road ahead is to take charge of this massive responsibility. He understands very well the gravity of the situation, but he is holding on as much as he can to his youth, for he knows it will not last very long.

Unlike other teenage boys his age who desires to grow old and have a job pronto, he loves being young. If only he can play basketball with his pals all day, go to as many high school parties as he can attend, play video games until dawn, and of course attend classes with some hot chick. But no, at a young age, he understands fully what he needs to sacrifice for his family, especially his grandfather. He depends on him to continue with the legacy and he is willing to do anything at all costs for them.

Jeremy's graduating from high school in three months' time, but while everyone's excited about dance and projects he is also busy getting to know his grandfather's business associates. He's planning to go to college while learning the ropes of their business.

His grandfather is 90 years old but is still as strong as a horse. He's hoping he'll get to live to 100 so he can still have at least 10 years to work with him. Though he knows it's too much to ask from his kind-hearted old man.

Everyone was drinking wine at the table, and he realized the waiter was now waiting for his approval to do the same. He signaled the man in the black coat to come.

"I'll have sparkling water instead please." Just like what a teenager like him should be doing.

The waiter nodded and left. Jeremy then went to admire the beautiful restaurant. They were seated on a white leather sofa with a semi-circular angle. It's located in the corner section of the restaurant beside the tall glass walls. Outside, white lights illuminate some well-trimmed bushes of green with little white flowers. The restaurant has a high ceiling radiating elegance and power. Some drapings of gold and silver rope are hanging from all corners. They all seem to be abstract but are also in harmony. This restaurant has a 2 Michelin starred chef and easily is one of the most expensive there is in the city. Looking at everyone dining, Jeremy realized how his yellow and green varsity jacket is out of place. Everywhere he looks, all are wearing either a black or white tuxedo or dress. He felt out of place, this is nowhere a high school student such as him should be hanging out on Friday night. He then stared at the woman in front of him, the woman who bumped into and shouted at him early on. She is checking her phone every 5 seconds and slightly tapped it several times when it started blinking.
