Jeremy's gaze shifted from Alvin's back to his phone as it rang insistently. He fumbled to answer it, recognizing his grandfather's number flashing on the screen. With a sense of urgency, he pressed the phone to his ear, listening intently to his grandfather's request.

On the other end of the line, his grandfather's voice carried a sense of authority and purpose. "Jeremy, my boy, I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. I wanted to discuss your upcoming internship at our business. Let's have dinner tonight to go over the details. I'll pick you up."

As the conversation unfolded, Jeremy's eyes widened with surprise. His grandfather wanted to meet him for dinner to discuss his upcoming internship at their family business. The timing couldn't have been more coincidental. Jeremy knew that this would be a significant step in shaping his future, and he wanted to make the most of this opportunity. After the call, he then saw Lila's phone light up. She then left the cafe to answer it.

When she went back she started packing her things, he knows it was his grandfather inviting them for dinner.

"I'm sorry, guys, but I have to leave," Lila said, her voice tinged with a mix of regret and excitement. "It's an important work thing."

The rest of her friends nodded understandingly, though a trace of disappointment flickered in their eyes, especially Alvin's. "Of course, Lila. I understand. We can catch up another time."

Lila gathered her belongings, bidding her farewell to Alvin and their friends. She couldn't shake off the curiosity and anticipation that bubbled within her. What could Grandpa Gerald possibly want to discuss? And why did it coincide with her meeting with Alvin?

As she made her way to the designated meeting spot, Lila's thoughts swirled with a blend of uncertainty and curiosity. She then sent a text to Jeremy.

Lila: Jeremy, can you wait a few minutes before leaving the cafe? We can't be seen together just yet. I'll meet you outside. - Lila

Jeremy: Sure, Lila. - Jeremy

At the curb, Lila anxiously glanced around, making sure no one from her circle of friends would spot them together. Just as Jeremy emerged from the cafe, they locked eyes, their hearts racing in synchrony.

Lila nodded, silently acknowledging Jeremy. As they exchanged a brief smile, a sleek car pulled up beside them, its windows tinted to shield the occupants from prying eyes.

"Mr. & Mrs. Gonzales, your grandfather sent me to pick you up."

They entered the car, settling into the plush leather seats, their excitement mingled with a touch of apprehension. The car glided through the bustling streets, heading towards their destination.

Back at the cafe, Emily's eyes widened as she witnessed Jeremy and Lila entering the car together. A whirlwind of emotions rushed through her, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that settled in her heart. With a determined expression, she walked back into the cafe, where Jeremy's friends were engaged in a lively conversation.

"Hey, guys. Do you know that woman who just left with Jeremy? She seemed pretty close to him." Emily curiously asked.

"Oh, you mean the sophisticated lady who bantered with us earlier? We don't know her, but she definitely caught our attention. Jeremy must have some hidden charms!" David blurted

"It's not like that. Jeremy and I are close, and he's never mentioned her before. I'm just curious about their connection." Emily added

"Well, it could be a new friendship or something. People meet all kinds of interesting individuals every day. Let's not jump to conclusions, Emily." Mark said
