Lila and Jeremy made their way through the bustling aisles of the grocery store, their shopping cart filled with carefully selected items. Lila couldn't help but marvel at Jeremy's culinary expertise as he effortlessly picked out the freshest produce and finest ingredients.

"You really have a knack for cooking, Jeremy," Lila remarked, a hint of admiration in her voice. "I had no idea you were so passionate about it."

Jeremy grinned, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Oh, definitely! Cooking is one of my greatest passions. I've always dreamt of becoming a chef someday. Maybe even owning my own restaurant."

Lila couldn't help but be captivated by Jeremy's genuine passion and talent. It was a side of him she hadn't fully realized before, and it added another layer to their growing connection.

As they continued their grocery shopping, their banter and laughter filled the air, momentarily drowning out the occasional stares and whispers from other shoppers. Lila and Jeremy had become comfortable in their own skin, unbothered by the opinions of others. Their shared moments had created a bubble of happiness and understanding around them.

At the checkout counter, Lila and Jeremy unloaded their items, ready to complete their shopping excursion. However, they were met with curious gazes from a group of elderly women standing nearby. One of them couldn't resist making a comment, their voice filled with both skepticism and a touch of wisdom.

"True love always wins, my dear," the elderly woman said, her eyes fixed on Lila. "But be cautious with young boys like him. They often chase after money."

Jeremy's expression turned stern, his protective instincts kicking in. He draped his arm around Lila's shoulders, drawing her closer. "Excuse me, but I think you've misunderstood. Lila is my wife, not just some wealthy benefactor. We're in this together, through thick and thin."

Lila felt a surge of warmth and gratitude as Jeremy claimed their relationship with such conviction. She leaned into his side, feeling a sense of security in his embrace.

Jeremy reached into his wallet and pulled out a sleek black card, flashing it with a confident smile. "And as for the groceries, allow me to take care of them."

The old ladies exchanged glances, their expressions shifting from skepticism to surprise. They realized their assumptions had been misplaced, and perhaps there was more to this couple than met the eye.

Lila looked at Jeremy, her eyes shimmering with affection and appreciation. "Thank you, Jeremy. But you don't have to do this. We can split the bill. You paid for the clothes earlier already"

Jeremy shook his head, a playful grin tugging at his lips. "Nonsense, wifey. Consider it my way of showing you how serious I am about us. Besides, it's the least I can do, well... plus the wonderful meals I'll be cooking with these groceries."

Lila laughed, a melodic sound that echoed through the store. She reached up to plant a gentle kiss on Jeremy's cheek, feeling a surge of joy and contentment at that moment. They had come a long way since their marriage of convenience, and with each passing day, their bond grew stronger.

The women grudgingly left without looking back.

As Jeremy's friends arrived at the doorstep, Lila answered the door with a warm smile. Their eyes widened in surprise as they laid eyes on her, unable to hide their admiration.

"Hey there," Lila greeted them cheerfully. "You must be Jeremy's friends. Come on in."

They stepped inside, their gazes lingering on Lila, clearly captivated by her presence. One of the friends, Derek, couldn't help but speak up, his voice filled with awe. "Wow, Jeremy, you didn't tell us your cousin was this stunning!"
