Lila entered her apartment, it was already almost 11:00 in the evening, before opening the door she was hoping that Alvin is already asleep so that she will have a perfect excuse not to tell him just yet of the inevitable. To her dismay, he is still wide awake playing the piano in the living area. The sweet sound of La Vie en Rose filled their apartment. It's her favorite song, and Alvin just plays it perfectly.

Alvin looked at her and smiled, he then started singing shifting to a different song.

Moon River, wider than a mile

I'm crossing you in style someday

Oh, dream maker, you heartbreaker

Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world

There's such a lot of world to see

We're after the same rainbow's end

Waitin' 'round the bend

My huckleberry friend

Moon River and me

"Alvin, we need to talk," Lila began, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and determination.

Alvin stopped playing and sat beside Lila, He knows what this is about, but he is still hoping for the best.

As Lila explained the circumstances and her decision to marry Jeremy, Alvin listened silently. The news struck him deeply, and the weight of it hung heavy in the air.

After a long pause, Alvin finally spoke, his voice filled with a mix of sadness and understanding. "Lila, I won't pretend that this doesn't hurt. But I also know how much your company means to you and your family. If this is what you believe is best for everyone involved, then I will respect your decision."

Lila felt a lump form in her throat as tears welled up in her eyes. She knew that Alvin's understanding didn't erase the pain, but it provided a glimmer of solace in a difficult moment.

Alvin then stood up, and packed a few of his things, before leaving the apartment he turned to Lila and hugged her one last time.

"Thank you, Alvin," Lila whispered, her voice filled with gratitude and sorrow. "Please know that you will always hold a special place in my heart."

As they bid each other farewell, Lila couldn't help but feel a sense of loss and longing. The road ahead was filled with uncertainties, and she knew that her journey with Jeremy would be challenging. But she was committed to honoring her word and making the best of the situation.

It was a bittersweet ending to a rather beautiful romance.

In the days that followed, preparations for the merger and the wedding began in earnest. Lila found herself immersed in a flurry of meetings, negotiations, and wedding arrangements. The once-prominent thought of marrying a high school boy was slowly fading, replaced by a sense of duty and responsibility.

Jeremy, too, was determined to prove himself worthy of the trust placed upon him. He delved into his studies, balancing his academic pursuits with the demands of the family business. As the wedding day approached, Lila couldn't help but feel a mix of trepidation and hope. She knew that their journey together would be filled with challenges and sacrifices, but she believed that their shared determination and the support of their families would see them through.

The day before their wedding, Lila got the best news in days, her dad woke up and is taken off life support. This somehow confirmed that it may have been one of the most difficult decisions she has to make, she definitely made the best decision.

They got married in the Gonzales estate, with only a few of their family's friends in attendance. Since Jeremy is still in High School and is still two months into graduation, they planned to keep their marriage secret for a few more months, in hopes of giving Jeremy a somehow normal high school life.

On the day of the wedding, as Lila stood at the altar, she glanced at Jeremy, who stood beside her, his eyes filled with a mix of nervousness and determination. At that moment, she realized that their union represented more than just a merger of companies—it was a symbol of resilience, adaptability, and strength. She doesn't know how long this union may last, though a contract drafted that should they decide to divorce in less than 5 years, the company's merger will be put in jeopardy. Silently, Lila looked into Jeremy's young innocent face, this is for the best. Five years tops and she will give both of the the choice. She will make sure to give Jeremy Alvin and herself the option they never get to have today.

Lila woke up early, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was the first day back at work after her secret marriage to Jeremy. As she got ready, she couldn't help but steal glances at her wedding ring, a constant reminder of the commitment she had made.

Arriving at the office, Lila greeted her colleagues with a warm smile, doing her best to conceal the whirlwind of emotions within her. She delved into her work, focusing on the tasks at hand, and determined to maintain her professional demeanor.

Throughout the day, Lila skillfully navigated meetings and discussions, her mind occasionally drifting to thoughts of Jeremy. She marveled at how they managed to keep their marriage a secret, realizing that it was necessary given Jeremy's ongoing education and their desire to establish their own path.

As the day progressed, Lila found herself caught up in a whirlwind of responsibilities and decisions. She handled them with grace, drawing upon her experience and the support of her colleagues. Although her heart was filled with thoughts of her new life as a married woman, she remained dedicated to her work, striving to balance her personal and professional responsibilities.

Meanwhile, at school, Jeremy walked the halls with a sense of newfound purpose. He had chosen not to reveal his marriage to his friends, wanting to experience a "normal" high school life for as long as he could. Among his friends, the topic of cheerleaders and crushes arose, and they engaged in light-hearted banter.

After a long day at school, Jeremy found himself hanging out with his friends at their usual spot, a local cafe near the school. As they settled into their seats, the conversation quickly turned to the typical teenage topics they often discussed.

His friends, unaware of Jeremy's recent marriage, engaged in lighthearted banter about their crushes and the cheerleaders they admired. Jeremy, with his mind preoccupied with his own secret, listened attentively, occasionally chiming in with playful remarks and nods.

As they sipped their drinks and enjoyed their snacks, Jeremy's friends urged him to share his thoughts on the matter. They knew him to be a charismatic and outgoing guy, always quick with a joke or a witty remark.

"Hey, Jeremy, spill the beans! Who's caught your eye this time?" one of his friends asked with a mischievous smile.

Jeremy let out a chuckle, contemplating how to respond. He didn't want to reveal his marriage, but he also wanted to maintain the appearance of a typical high school boy.

"You know me, guys," Jeremy replied, flashing a playful grin. "I'm just enjoying the company of all the lovely ladies around here. Too many options to choose from!"

His friends laughed and playfully nudged him, teasing him about his non-committal response. Jeremy played along, enjoying the light-hearted banter, but deep down, he couldn't help but feel the weight of the secret he carried.

As the afternoon stretched on, they continued their hangout session, talking about movies, sports, and the latest trends. Jeremy relished these moments of normalcy, cherishing the friendships and the carefree atmosphere.

However, amidst the laughter and camaraderie, a part of Jeremy longed for a connection deeper than mere teenage infatuations. Little did he know that his life had already taken an unexpected turn, leading him down a path where his relationships would be defined by more than just youthful flings.

Check out the link I added with the Moonriver piano. I imagine Alvin trying to beg Lila to stay. This song is not a breakup song (I think) but there's just a pang of sadness to it which makes the entire breakup scene perfect.

Are you team Alvin or team Jeremy? Let me know in the comments below! :)

Till the next chapter, see you my loves!
