Teju tilted her head and narrowed her eyes at him.
"By the way... what were you doing with Sonia? And what did she whisper in your ear while you were dancing?"
Karan raised his brows, amused. "You noticed that? Huh?"
"Of course I did. Now tell me."
He chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "She was telling me about the guy she's dating. I know him. And then... she asked if I still have feelings for you."
Teju's breath hitched. "And what was your response?"
"She doesn't need to know about us," he said softly. "I didn't say anything. I wasn't sure about your feelings either."
Teju's lips curved. "Good boy."
His smirk deepened. "Do you like good guys?"
"Yes. Who doesn't?"
"I may not be the 'good boy' you like."
"No," she said firmly. "You are a very good boy. That's why I love you. You take care of your parents. You take care of me, even when I'm rude. You don't hold grudges. The list is very long."
He only hummed, looking at her as if committing every word to memory.
"Trust me, I don't lie," she added softly. "Okay now you tell me—when will you tell your parents about us?"
Karan's eyes sparkled. "I want to tell the world that you're mine, laddoo—if you're okay with it."
She blinked. "We'll see. I'm feeling awkward right now. And by the way, why are you calling me laddoo? Do I look like one? Are you calling me fat?"
He laughed quietly. "No. Your face is like a laddoo—sweet, soft. I just tasted it, trust me, it's very sweet."
"Sunnyyyy..." she groaned, burying her face in his chest. "You're shameless."
He leaned closer. "Why are you shy? You tasted me too, didn't you?"
"Shut up," she whispered, shaking her head.
He caressed her hair.
"I'm sleepy," she murmured. "Can we sleep?"
"You want to sleep on the couch?"
"Take me to the bed. I'm lazy."
"You know that sounds very hot," he teased.
"Shut up."
He scooped her into his arms, moving toward the door.
"Where are you taking me?"
"You said bed. I'm taking you to my bed. This one's too small for me anyway."
She relaxed against his chest. "Hmm. Okay."
"As if I was giving you any other option," he muttered.
They fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms.

Morning light poured through the curtains. Teju blinked awake beside him, the memories of the night before flooding her. She pressed a soft kiss to his chin and tried to get up—but his arm shot out, pulling her back down.
"Where are you going?" Karan mumbled.
"Sunny, I need to get ready."
"Five minutes?"
"Two."
"Too little for love."
"Five enough?"
"No. Forty-five at least."
